The conquistadors came from all over Europe, from places like Germany, and Greece. Most of them were from families of poor, and lower, almost none of them were nobles, since nobles didn't need the money. Though most of the conquistadors had never been in combat, they were organized people. They were free to join, and could leave at any time. And because the Inca's, Aztecs, and Mayans were full of gold, and loot, that made even more men, and women want to join. They were all either footmen, harquebusiers, or cavalry, crossbowmen, horsemen, and artilleryman.
