Hey guys, how we all doing? Excited to start studying? Definitely absolutely same (our instructors read this right? :P)

I'm Megan, Meg for short is totally fine! I'm from Newcastle, NSW originally, but currently living around Ipswich, QLD. 

I do not currently work, but do a lot of online content creation which takes up most of my time at the moment.

I decided to start studying psych after a cheeky brush with cancer a few years ago. I found that there was a huge gap in therapy for people going through what I experienced, and even less so during the after care stage. I've always been fascinated by people and the way we as humans exist and live, and psych seemed like a great combination of interests. 

I opted for CSU as my sister attended this uni for her Paramedic degree and spoke very highly of it.

Like Meg,  I’m also in Queensland, quite a bit north and west in the dusty, dry and currently very hot North Burnett   

I’m now doing the final two units of a Grad Certificate in Human Services and looking forward to the home stretch.  I’m working full time in Disability Services and am looking to qualify the previous 6 years in this field.  Assisting people with Mental Health issues and other, often complex life challenges, this is professional development to better inform my practice.

I’m not quite sure what to expect in the delivery of this course, each has been very different so far, but working with and getting to know my fellow students has been really rewarding.

Can’t wait to meet the rest of the crew!

I'm Felicity and live in Barnawartha, near Albury-Wodonga. If anyone is close by please feel free to sing out, it would be great to catch up and brainstorm through some of the content (or just blow off steam when the pressure increases). 

My weekends are typically spent camping, playing in the garden and riding the bike (attempting to at least), all of which is done with my husband, three kiddos and fur baby. The kids are 2, 6 and 9 so all are at fun and different development stages with their individual perks and quirks to keep me on my toes. 

Having started up and run a business with my husband for the last eight years, I'm really looking forward to the change of pace, scenery and career prospects. Additionally, I'm actually l really looking forward to meeting lots of new people in the same boat and hopefully making some connections with likeminded people.

Hi my name is Julie and I'm based in Dubbo. I studied way back in 1990 & 1991 at the Australian Catholic Uni in North Sydney - I completed an Associate Diploma in Education - Habilitation (disability specific).

I have been working in the disability field for approximately 25 years and have held many different roles - more recently I have been working within the Intensive Support Services (ISS) team with children and young people in Out of Home Care (NSW Department of Communities and Justice). Our team provides intensive and specialist case work to young people who have significant high needs.  We travel all over Western NSW to support our clients.

I felt it was time to formalise my experience and knowledge and study again..... I'm feeling nervous!!  

My passion is working with children and young people with disability and their families/ carers - especially those in regional and remote areas of NSW.

I look forward to this subject and being in contact with you all.

I've already completed a year and a bit of my Bachelor of Psychology. I have an interest in neuropsychology and psychopathology. I gravitate between working as a pscyholgogist or researcher in the future. However, I can see myself studying for another decade. I'd like to do some postgraduate study in psychology and even writing. 

In this degree, I hope to get a better understanding about developmental psychology. I remember studying this topic in my foundations of psychology course and I particularly enjoyed it. 

I look forward to the beginning of semester and interacting with my fellow peers.

My name is Lynda, I am a Sydney girl currently based in France working at Disneyland Paris.
I am on a completely different time zone to most people, but I will try join into the live sessions as much as I can!

The first covid lockdown France had gave me a lot of time to think about life and my skill set and how I could better develop and use them. After a conversation with a friend who grew up in the US foster system and a random movie on YouTube I came across I was inspired to look into social work. I think I would really like to work with children. (Child protection officer was the job role that led me to finding this course.) 
I will also be taking HCS513 this semester. 
Aside from a couple of Auslan courses, the last time I really studied was in 2014 at Macquarie University, so I am a little nervous to be jumping back into it!
