He gives the readers examples of those whom have listen to their heart against society and come out on top to appeal to the reader logic and support his claim. The author appeals to ethos by saying, "And we are now men, and must accept in the highest mind the same transcendent destiny; and not minors and invalids in a protected corner, not cowards fleeing before a revolution, but guides, redeemers, and benefactors, obeying the Almighty effort, and advancing on Chaos and the Dark." because, he appeals to their ethics showing that it would be a waste of their life to not live it to the fullest.
