Throughout the project I had to work with colors to get them to match the colors from the magazine.  One thing that went well was the green vines coming out from the left two corners.  The green fades well from dark to light in both of those.  Something that was more difficult was the use of black on the right side of the picture.  Trying to get the black to fade from black in the center to white at the edge was difficult, but I think I understood how by the end.]]> 2016-05-18 15:46:47 UTC https://padlet.com/mdick1/s738elngco25/wish/111490420 mdick1 https://padlet.com/mdick1/s738elngco25/wish/111578124      The image is split directly in half with light, warm colors on the left and dark, cool colors on the right accept for one accent to show that even good times have a little darkness and no matter how bad things get, there is always a silver lining.

The shadows were one of the more difficult portions of the project.  They are made of many colors layered on top of one another to create a deeper value that adds a realistic quality.]]> 2016-05-20 15:50:38 UTC https://padlet.com/mdick1/s738elngco25/wish/111885759 mdick1 https://padlet.com/mdick1/s738elngco25/wish/112025738 The portrait was difficult for me because I have never been able to draw faces particularly well.  I learned a lot in this class about how to draw each individual aspect of the face and then I was able to combine them all to make one cohesive face.  The hair was difficult but definitely interesting to figure out.  I tried out several styles of drawing for the hair and ended up combining some of my ideas for the final product.
