Hi, I’m Afiqah Insyirah from Seri Kembangan, Selangor. I am currently pursuing a degree at the International Islamic University Malaysia, in the Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge, majoring in Usuluddin and Comparative Religion. I chose this course because I aspire to be a Muslim who brings benefit to the religion, while also gaining a deeper and clearer understanding of my faith. Whatever path I take in the future, I simply hope to become someone who can contribute meaningfully to my family, my nation, and especially to my religion.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time reading or writing about the thoughts that come to my mind.

Feel free to contact me via email at afiqahins@gmail.com for any related matters.

My dream is to become a Muslimah who remains calm and composed in going through life, no matter what trials come my way. I aspire to be someone who brings happiness to those I love, with gentleness and firmness, while living a life guided by the teachings of Islam until the end of my journey.

By joining this usrah, it has helped to clear my perspective on Islam and further strengthen my understanding of the knowledge I’ve been learning since childhood. It has also supported me in realising my dream of becoming a calm and grounded Muslimah.

My prayer is that my life’s journey will always be adorned with Allah’s pleasure and mercy upon me.

Every time I feel disappointed with life, I often wonder silently—could it be because I’ve attached my heart too much to the world? When all I truly want is to live peacefully, without being shaken by worldly matters that try to weaken my spirit. Every time I fall because of the world, I’m reminded of the beautiful words of the Creator of this world in the last verse of Surah Al-Insyirah: "وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ".

By remembering this verse, I realise that no one is more deserving of my hope than Allah—the One who will never disappoint. And in the end, my heart finds peace again in the beauty of Allah’s promises.

My groupmates and I have completed a roleplay entitled "Why is our iman is always being tested?" Through exploring this topic in depth, I found it to be a truly meaningful subject that helped me better understand the connection between life’s trials and our hearts.

Indirectly, it reminded me that every trial comes with a reason and wisdom behind it—something I’ve come to realise through this roleplay experience.

With this, I will learn to face every trial that Allah sends my way with a more open and accepting heart. Allahumma aamin.

I am truly grateful to have been blessed with a kind and supportive naqibah throughout the Usrah 1 sessions, as well as friendly and helpful classmates.

However, I do hope that future usrah sessions can be more active in terms of activities and deeper bonding among members, so that the true meaning of “usrah” can be better reflected and conveyed to us as students.
