We listened to "Honey, I Love You" and had to visualize different parts of the poem. Students drew what they pictured and wrote several sentences explaining their drawing.

Analyzing Narratives

Today in math, we reviewed what we have learned this week (3 digit + 2&3 digit addition) by playing "flip the bottle tic-tac-toe".

Miss Madrid's Entrepreneurs

On Friday's we trade out our tickets for fun prizes. These kiddos decided to open up their own businesses and make a profit (so they could buy the large ticket items on Fridays). Some are selling homemade bookmarks, others are offering reading and math tutoring. :D

OSMO

Probably the coolest thing to enter our classroom this year is Osmo-an iPad gaming system. There are many different games that kids can play to build their spatial skills, math skills, reading skills, and more! They can work with a partner or play individually. Thank you to the donors from donors choose who helped make this possible!

We used Plickers to review for our science test about Spiders. It was pretty neat watching our names turn blue once we had our answer scanned!

In science we have been learning about spiders and thought it would be fun to create our own! The kiddos had to identify the body parts of a spider before they could pick out their materials. :)

I began giving written feedback at the beginning of the year and had it organized by week. The students who were given feedback were marked with the date and highlighted in a color based on the subject they shared. I plan on reorganizing this method to make it a little easier to manage for next year. :)
