It is rather inauthentic to have us read a lecture, when 1. "real" lecturers would not read from notes 2. we tell students all the time to not read from their notes during a presentation. I ad-libbed a few times, which was ok sometimes, but sometimes I found that I missed content that was then needed on the follow-up questions.
