Many parents would gladly lay down their lives for the survival of their children, and keep in mind these are still just animals. Wildebeast will migrate anywhere from 500-1000 miles to find more grass for grazing. Perhaps the most radical of all the examples: the Sockeye salmon. These fish migrate to their natal freshwater streams which are much safer than open bodies of water. Just a few weeks after spawning, both mother and father die. They do this to ensure life goes on.
