Our community is in a suburban area right outside of Los Angeles. Culver City is the center for motion picture and television and some of our parents work on T.V. and movies. We like to spend time going to the beach and playing sports with our friends. We also like to play Minecraft on our computers. I am Miss Simmons and teach first grade. Something special about our hometown is the celebration of Homecoming to celebrate the Geneva High School alumni coming back home. Geneva is now home to the 9 and 10 year old fastpitch softball world series winners! This is a huge accomplishment for such a small town. Our teacher is Mandy Precise. We are small, rural, farming community. Our town is famous for two rivers that join at a junction. We celebrate them each April with a festival called, Festival on the Rivers. At the park, called the junction, is a famous oak tree. We will post more about that later.


This class and Miss Simmons first grade class is together right now. We saw your comment about what we like to do for fun in Geneva. We are enjoying football games, soccer,  and playing at the park at the junction.

We are 22 second-graders that go to a suburban school in northern Sacramento.
We love where we live because there are lots of things to do here. We enjoy going to the park, playing games, and watching the Sacramento Kings (basketball team) or the Sacramento Republic (soccer team). 
We live near two rivers: the Sacramento River and the American River which we really enjoy because it can get really hot here. It is past 90 degrees F right now!
