Tear the unwanted paper into small pieces and dissolve it in the water. Place the pulp on a screen to create the new sheet of paper. Let the paper airdry.

1.      Awareness walk  around the neighhboour. Can ask k1/k2 do poster or some tokens or DIY badge/ magnet ton zero waste.

2.      Storybooks about Zero Waste – Read books like The Adventures of a Plastic Bottle or Don't Throw That Away!

3.      Create a recycling station outside the school to collect recyclables

4.      Set up a pay it forward table for ppl to take If they need.

5.      Go pick up litter at the park nearby.

6.      Wear a green clothes to commemorate a special day?

Craft sales?

Make pencil holder, or photo frame or storage containers. Create musical instruments from cans, plastic bottles, or old cardboard boxes…. Make samples and ask parents to pre order then we make to sell .

Event on 30^th

·       Tie dye workshop – parents pay 10 bucks to tie down a tee brought from home

·       Flea market – ask parents/staff to donate things from their home and we can sell them

·       Campaign concert? Ask staff /parents to perform like a talent showcase for entertainment

·       Face paint station? Who can do face paint?

• Materials: Toilet paper rolls, markers or crayons, tape, and stickers.

• How to: Decorate toilet paper rolls with stickers or paint. Stack them together and tape them into a tower or arrange them side by side to make a cute holder for crayons or pencils.

2. Recycled Paper Notebooks

• Materials: Old scrap paper (used on one side), cardboard, glue or a stapler, and yarn (optional).

• How to: Fold the used paper into small booklets, staple or tie the edges with yarn to bind them, and glue a recycled cardboard piece as the cover. This becomes a new notebook for kids to use for drawing or writing.

3. Egg Carton Planters

• Materials: Egg cartons, potting soil, and seeds (e.g., herbs like basil or flowers).

• How to: Cut an egg carton into individual sections, fill them with soil, and plant seeds in each section. Kids can water them and watch their plants grow, and later transplant them into a garden!

4. Bottle Cap Coasters

• Materials: Plastic or metal bottle caps, glue, felt or fabric, and scissors.

• How to: Glue bottle caps onto a piece of fabric or felt in a fun pattern, leaving space between them for a more functional surface. This creates a unique coaster for drinks or as a small tray to hold items!

5. Recycled Fabric Scraps Tote Bag

• Materials: Old t-shirts or fabric scraps, scissors, and a needle or glue.

• How to: Cut strips of old fabric or a t-shirt, then braid or weave them into a simple bag or pouch that can be used to store toys, books, or snacks! No sewing required if using glue.

6. Milk Carton Bird Feeder

• Materials: Empty milk carton, birdseed, peanut butter, string (optional).

• How to: Cut small holes in the milk carton, spread peanut butter on the outside, and roll it in birdseed. Hang it from a tree with a string for a homemade bird feeder!

7. Paper Plate Wall Organizer

• Materials: Paper plates, scissors, glue, and markers or stickers for decoration.

• How to: Cut a paper plate into sections to create pockets and glue the sections to a larger plate. Decorate with markers or stickers to make a fun organizer for small items like pencils, erasers, or coins.

8. Recycled Bottle Pencil Holder

• Materials: Empty plastic bottle, scissors, fabric, and glue.

• How to: Cut a plastic bottle to a desired height, wrap it with fabric or paper, and glue it in place. This becomes a sturdy pencil holder for their desk or study area!

9. Tin Can Wind Chimes

• Materials: Empty tin cans, string, paint, and beads or buttons.

• How to: Paint and decorate the cans. Punch small holes in the bottom of each can and string them together to create a simple wind chime. This is not only decorative but can be placed outside as a gentle sound-maker!

10. Upcycled Button Bracelets

• Materials: Old buttons, elastic cord, and needle and thread.

• How to: Use a needle and thread to string buttons into patterns, then tie the ends to create a fun bracelet. Kids can wear them proudly and even give them as gifts!
