This question, at the end of the post got me to thinking about an activity that I was fortunate to discover some years ago. It's called a "Who Am I? Monologue". All of my students for the past 10 years have written a 3 to 5 minute orally presented monologue. They are to try to answer that question, "Who Am I?" in a monologue. I am able to gain so much valuable knowledge from them! It helps to create a class culture of respect where every student feels valued.

Funds of Knowledge is almost like a currency. How much does each student have to use based on the individual's experience. It is also affected by the teacher's funds of knowledge and how much he/she is willing to learn. It seems it's a two-way transaction of teaching and learning.
