I specifically chose Nelson Mandela as a prime example because that is what I inspire to be a transformational leader. I find that desire to influence people to do the right thing and not to control or dictate to them what to do. To be a transformational leader I want to learn how to motivate others to go beyond their self-interests for the good of the group and to better themselves or to paint an image that is so worth the pain of change (p. 361). Nelson Mandela has demonstrated that time and time again in his lifetime, and to possess that quality character is gold. While Mandela was in prison, the followers became the leaders (p. 361). Quadrant B consist of traits such as: planning, organizing of facts and careful detailed review Daft (2015, p. 117). Quadrant B is known as the ‘manager’ part of the brain which means individuals who are dominant in this quadrant will get things done through a thorough plan and procedures (p. 118). Quadrant B has strong resistance when it involves risk no matter the circumstance. I would love to pursue this goal and make it a reality, because of the career path I chose. To be proficient in three or more quadrants I would be considered as a well-rounded leader with multiple cognitive thinking styles. Recruit followers to assist with the recognition of problems and to motivate them to look at things in new ways to increase productive changes to reach the company's vision (p. 361). In this generation, actions speaks louder than words. A prime example I have witnessed, Mandela showcased this trait by forgiving the men who arrested him and encouraging the nation to do so as well.

To build these two leaderships goals it will benefit myself and others in staying organized, prepared and to ensure individuals feel included in the organization, that’s a place worth working for.
