I love the culture it has to offer for me and my potential family. I have many relatives out on each island so I would not be alone on this amazing journey. I already will be spending my next 4 years out there on the North Shore of Hawaii. Reaching this goal could be very difficult do to the cost of living and just finding a wife who would also want to stay on an island. But with a steady job, we could be a happy family living in Paradise everyday, surfing, snorkeling, hiking and eating great hawaiian food. This is important to me because it has always been a goal of mine to go and live with some of my most favorite people in my family (my grandparents). These people mean so much to me and they have always loved me for who I am, supported me and cared for me throughout my whole life. I feel that being closer to them I could give back to them and spend more time with them. Also, the culture of Hawaii is so giving and is always giving service to others. I love to live by the motto of serving others. Everyone is so nice and loving to each other. When I am surfing I am escaping from all the worldly problems and just having the time of my life. Surfing has taught me a lot of skills such as, focus, balance and perseverance. The perseverance part is probably the most difficult part of the sport. The first maybe 20 times I went out I fell constantly, wiping out and losing my breath. But then I caught that first actual nice ride. There is nothing like the feeling of catching a wave and completing it. The sensation is amazing and its so addicting. To continue this passion for the rest of my life would be amazing. Good money made, time off to be with my family and at the beach. In my opinion, serving others in a time of need or anytime at all is the key to a happy life. A fireman risks his life everyday on the job to help others when they can't do so themselves. Being a firefighter keeps you in good shape which is something I hope to keep throughout my whole life. I also love to work with others on the job and the firefighting community is a brotherhood.
Becoming a Physical Therapist has been another goal for me too. As a former athlete, I know how much it sucks to be injured when you want to be put in the game. Helping others get back out there on the field is something that could help develop a fun and detirmined relationship between the patient and myself. Both of these jobs are so important to me because they both are all about serving others. When I am serving other people I find myself the happiest. Introducing them to our great country, teaching them the purpose of life, learning from growing, and doing things as kids that I wish I would have done. Having kids is essential to a marriage as well. 2 people showing their love for kids helps them grown as a family. Having kids I can be almost like a mentor to them and guide them from whats good and bad. As a family we can go on fun vacations and play sports together. Most importantly, I need at least one kid to be a pro so we can get the Yoshida name out there and recognized for our greatness. Also, one kid will not make the cut, my kids need to be close in age, and need to be boys so we can play rough. I get to be with some of my friends out there living the life. You will catch me at the beach everyday surfing or boogieboarding. Every surf competition I will be there watching. Hopefully I will be studying in the field of fire or kinesiology. Later becoming a Fireman or Physical Therapist. Fireman would be ideal because they only require a Associates degree, but a Physical Therapist requires about 6 years to do well. Another potential future I hope topursue at this university would be to become a major in political science. Hopefully leading into the category of crime. All of these are made possible at BYUH. Also a goal I have is to make new friends. The church may have higher standards than that of a Christian church, however, these standards have been made to keep me on the right track in life. There has been countless times where I have been in need of help and my leaders in the church have helped me through it. The friendships within the church that I have made are some that I would never want to lose. The community is all about loving and serving others which I love. Hopefully I can marry someone of the same faith as me. I feel that marrying someone of the same faith would lead into a happy and loving family. I know how hard it is for people who struggle with weight, fatt, etc. And I hope I never get myself off track. Being unhealthy could take away my ability to do pretty much any of my future jobs, or passions. I would not be able to play with my kids as much as well. When I am healthy, I feel that I can do almost anything I want to do in my freetime. When you are doing these 3 activities, you are having the time of your life. You forget about everything in life and just let go to have fun. Living in Hawaii you can do all of the above. The hiking is incredible and there is waterfalls you can cliff jump at. Starting of with a friend that I made named Casey. We have all the same interests and he has been there for me since I met him. He is my longtime beach bro and we send it on everything and get tumbled on those waves. The next person is named Paulina. I have known her since I was about 5. We stopped talking around 8 because of school and just not seeing each other. This past year we had 2 of the same classes and I can say she is the greatest most genuine person I know. She is so nice and happy whenever I am around her. And the last person but not least would be my friend Bryce. I have known him since around 6th grade. He has always had my back and is another beach bro. We go probably 30 times over summer and its never a bad moment. Traveling gives you the biggest perspective on life. It creates goals for yourself. Some places I have been such as Belize and Cozumel are pretty run down countries. Visiting places like this really open your eyes and make you so thankful for what you have. Then you visit places like Alaska and see nothing but beautiful places and things. I have made so many memories at these places and I hope to take my kids someday. Traveling around the world creates such a good perspective on what you want your future to look like. You can potentially visit a place you might want to end up living. You visit places you know you never want to go back to.
