         <description><![CDATA[<div>The attack left the UK a prime target for future attacks - as two weeks later there were another series of attempted attacks intended to cause harm but these failed&nbsp;<br><br>The major attacks happened 1 day after London won the bid to host the 2012 Olympic games. The widespread of the attack left London open for criticism on national security and tourists safety.&nbsp;<br><br>Strength of impact<br><br>Impacted tourism as a drop in visitor number was recorded.<br>The national gallery and 4.2 million visitors in 2005 which is 15% fewer than in 2004.&nbsp;<br>The Tate Modern, as well as the London eye, received 12% fewer tourists - This shows recovery was hard for London as a tourist destination.&nbsp;<br>On the other hand, a tourist destination would recover from a terrorist attack faster than it would an environmental disaster.&nbsp;<br><br>The attacks disrupted domestic tourism more as there was no noticeable impact on arrival to London from other countries but there was an impact of visitor numbers on tourist attractions.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Londons stages of crisis management</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Readiness - The destination was not prepared for the deadliest incident since 1988, as this was the first ever Islamic suicide attack in the UK.&nbsp;<br><br>Response -&nbsp;<br>Cabinet Office briefing room A (Cobra) was activated within minutes of the first explosions they are used in response to national crisis. The London underground was closed ASAP and the entire London bus network was suspended with all the buses sent back to base for security checks. Major rail networks were shut down in the morning and ambulance services were only sent to life threating illnesses or injuries in the area. The police reported to the media for people to stay away from London and stay in their homes. All major building was sealed off such as Buckingham Palace and the houses of parliament.&nbsp;<br><br>Nationwide security alerts were put in major cities.<br><br><br>Recovery -&nbsp;London <br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
