People have so many hopes and dreams, and people are afraid that they will never be able to live up to their potential and be able to live out their dreams. Yes, death is inevitable. But the fact that we never know when our time is actually up is terrifying, especially in the world we live today.

Responding to Robert:
I definitely think the media can change a person's opinion about a country. Media plays a big role in our life and it's always around us, whether invited in or not. When multiple sources say the same things, it's hard not to at least mildly believe it. It is your choice though to do your own investigating to determine your true beliefs and not just go with what the media says because everyone has a bias.

Responding to Jackie:
No. I do not believe you have true privacy. Everything in this modern technologically ran world, is recorded. Even if you go to the greatest precautions nothing is truly private. Humans are social creatures, we need human contact to remain sane. So even if you cut out all technology and move to some rural far out place, you can't remain stable without talking to someone.

Responding to Cameron:
No. I do not believe it is human nature to rebel. I like what Ryan said about the "Nature or Nurture" topic, and going off that I believe this is a matter of nurture. Some people will go along with the crowd just because they know no better and don't have a mind of their own, likely because in their upbringing they did not get to form their own opinions, whereas the people who were blessed with the opportunity to speak their minds and fully express themselves and their own opinions, are the ones who will rebel because they can see the "wrong" and will refuse to conform.

Responding to Chloe:
I believe the ultimate form of betrayal is when it puts you directly in harms way and the betrayal is premeditated. When the person plans it they have multiple opportunities to say, "hey I don't think this is right", and can then stop it at that moment. If the betrayal they commit is knowingly going to hurt you, whether it be physical or emotional, it truly just shows the horrific unsympathetic side of them. When someone you care about deeply plans on hurting you, it can be emotionally damaging forever, in the sense that you will likely have trust issues and push people away for the longest times.

Responding to Diego's question, love can affect a person in various ways depending on the love, not always necessarily the person. A person can be a kind and loving person, but the other person in the relationship could be toxic which creates an unrequited love. This affects one of them poorly, and has very little/no effect to the other person. Depending on the characteristics of the love shared, it could be wonderful, or it could be heartbreaking.

-Responding to Jeremiah’s question about does society need a government. I don’t think that the government is needed, but I think for the society to run as people would like or want to be then there would be a need for the government
-Responding to Diego’s question about if the government should always tell the people things. I don’t think that our government tells the people everything they need to know because when society knows the government is hiding things it makes it more difficult for the government to possibly hold things over societies head and keep them ignorant.
-Responding to Joey’s question about which is a more powerful way to control people. I think that mental control is way more powerful than physical just purely based on how hard it is to live your life if you are being brain washed all the time. Not to mention how hard it would be to think your own way or be able to be free.
-I disagree with Maya because although it may be better to be mentally reconditioned you are being drained of your own thoughts and what truly makes you the person you are. So personally it would be easier to be killed than to be drained of all things that make you a person.

It is fine to have goals in a relationship and I think there are some that even before dating need to be known and put n the table. Because if you have one overarching goal that you want to achieve and the person that you are with doesn't know that, the decisions you will make as a couple might not meet up to that goal.

3. I agree with Elizabeth on how the government is so large and diverse that you can never be sure of what is known and not known. For one, Aliens have been a topic brought up when discussing hidden government theories and some will say yes, and some will say no we have not discovered aliens. I think that there are too many branches and too many things going on in the United States as a whole that you will never actually know.

4.

1. I think that the government monitoring us is kind of mandatory, as that is the only way that the government can ensure that we aren't doing anything illegal. Yes it's easy to push boundaries and it gives the government easy access to our personal lives but I think that they should have some sort of access to ensure safety.

2. I don't think we're living in a dystopian society, or at least as of now. In dystopian novels they don't think that their world is messed up, they believe that they instead are living in something reminiscent of a utopia. I think that if we were living in a dystopian world, the majority of us wouldn't even know it.

3. I think to stay yourself in an all powerful government, you'd have to keep your thoughts to yourself. If you find outcasts, it's possible that you'd have the same mindsets and it would make building up a rebellion easier.

4. The government becomes to powerful when they start to restrict human rights. Treating citizens as slaves and taking away things like the rights to basic knowledge is when a government truly becomes corrupt.
