The jump students have to make from homework/lesson checks/quizzes to exams makes it very difficult to motivate students who are forced to take a math class their senior year and are struggling to understand the math to further their conceptual understanding is a point of frustration.

Students in my onramps classes have never taken the high school equivalent so there are a lot of gaps to fill in.

Also, I think that many people (district, admin, etc) do not really understand what OR classes are.

Having to bridge between their activities and the homework myself.

And the usual of thinking that Physics is the same as other sciences and not realizing the kids need Science AND Mathematic proficiency

The biggest issue with OnRamps for my campus is the limitations for our course load with Rhetoric (We are limited to 3 sections and a max of 60 students). This means that we are all at least double prepped and on my campus it is with English 2 so a tested subject. This is something we hope to address in the future as we (my OR Rhetoric co-teacher Cara Earnest and I) are working to shift to DC but it is a challenge as far as testing days.

The high school culture leans towards various other CCMR options away from dual credit for students. The PSSS just shared the data with us from the past five years and the trend of lack of support for the dual credit option for students is evident.

For dual credit students, text options would be wonderful. While TCCD provides digital textbooks, these are not always the best ones for FWISD students in the courses.

It's so refreshing that you'd ask!

A handbook for dual credit instructors, for OnRamps instructors, for AP instructors, for ECHS instructors, with all the best practices and policies, something open where students, admin, and other teachers, and even parents could see might help us. (On my FWISD teacher web page, some of what dual credit is about is posted in one place for students, so they can point their parents to it [FERPA]; and TCCD has a fair dual credit handbook for students, that gets to policies and practices. Something like that for us teachers would be great.)
