The book is a romantic book, I guess you could say that it is a realistic fiction but I don't know if it would actually happen to this extent. The setting is mostly in the house but there are some other places near the end. The main characters are Maddy and Olly but there is also Maddy's mom and Carla(the nurse) and the new nurse. So in the book the main character Maddy has a disease that makes it so she is allergic to pretty much everything and so she has to stay in her house with clean air and a whole bunch of other steps to keep her healthy. This includes having a nurse to take her vitals and make sure she is okay. She falls in love with her new neighbor Olly. She has to choose between risking her life for him or staying with her mother. This book could happen in real life, but it isn't a true story. The book is about a boy named Tariq Johnson who gets shot to death in a part of a rough town named Underhill. No one seems to have the same story about how Tariq got shot, or whether he had a weapon or not. He was said to be in the local gang, but not everyone agrees about that either. The book is told by many people, each one with they're own opinions and what they thought of Tariq. Summary- Rose(Rosemarie) was waiting for practice to begin but instead had to go visit some other expert with Dimitri. When they get there, they discover that the house was broken into, and Dimitri orders Rose to stay in the car. Rose, being herself, disobeys and leaves the car. She goes to the back of the house and discovers that the expert she was going to talk to was dead, along with the family he was protecting. She had to wait for reinforcements to come and investigate. She then was forced to go back to school. Ever since then, guardians have been coming in and staying.
