The tinglar is a very interesting animal, since it has existed since the times when dinosaurs walked the Earth. This turtle lives in the sea and is very large. It can measure seven feet and weigh up to 1,400 pounds. It also has an impressive ability to adapt to depths of 3,900 feet. The tinglar is the only sea turtle that does not have a hard shell.

         On the beach of my town, Naguabo, you can see the tinglares, because in their nesting season the females come out at night to lay their eggs in the sand. The people of my community, together with the mayor, decided to positively help the tinglares, to prevent them from being in danger. The initiative consisted of modifying the lights that illuminate the road from their normal color to red, in order to help them in their nesting process and not get disoriented with the striking light.

       In conclusion, as human beings in search of collective benefit, so as such we must respect the world and avoid the extinction of the great diversity of existing species. In short, helping animals is more than our duty, since they are part of us and together we share the same habitat; planet Earth.
