Right on Reading by Iyanna Fouce

This is a curation of resources perfect for teaching the Georgia Performance Standard ELAGSE4RL3. This standard asks that students are able to describe in depth the character, setting, or events in a story while drawing specific details from the text. To accomplish this I have compiled videos, worksheets and websites to not only use for this topic but, many others in future lessons. By using these resources, not only will students be able to accomplish this task but, have a firm and fun understanding of the process to do so.

However, this worksheet gives students a break of writing and an opportunity to use those colorful pencils and crayons they love so much. Providing students a way to colorfully demonstrate their knowledge gives an edge of creativity to a worksheet.

This worksheet format will likely be something students are familiar with prior to coming to fourth grade. However, it likely involves more boxes by requiring the student break the story into three parts. This could act as a great grade level transition worksheet or as a challenge. To amp it up students may be required to not only identify all five elements but write their textual supports in the boxes as well.
