I'd suggest tweaking the composition - model remains in the same position, but you as a photographer move a little and try get less ceiling, more of the person. Is the light coming from above? Perhaps move her slightly towards it?

KR- I like how you have utilised the mirror, it's a creative approach to the brief. My one criticism you have focused on the hairdresser in the foreground and not on them in the mirror. If you take this image again think about what the main focus of the image is. If you focused on the mirror it would've created a blur on their shoulders and the hair dressing doll in the foreground. I would also try and only include the person you are trying to photograph as adding any other distractions will take away from the image. I am curious to see what the actual colours here are, so that I advice on how it could be done differently. KR - I love how you have taken the brief and have clearly shown your love of horses and horse riding within your portrait. This is exactly how to show an environmental portrait of someone. If you were to take this photo again, I would look at taking the photo from in front of the horse so that you don't lose the context of your image as you have cut the horse's face off on the left hand side of the image. KR - This is exactly how to approach this brief. I love how you have used the art in the background to represent you as a creative. My only criticism is that you need to zoom in or bring your camera a little bit closer to you as you have a lot of head space which adds a bit of a distraction to the story of yourself you are trying to tell. KR- I love how you’ve captured the personality of the worker while also telling us what kind of job she has. That’s exactly what an environmental portrait is meant to do. My only criticism is that the shelf of the counter cuts through an awkward part of the image. If you have something that is cutting through you need to make sure that it lines up with something in the image for it to be flattering. An environmental portrait is a posed image that tells the story of a persons work or hobby in a single image. I like the way you have lit your image but I don't think this constitutes as an environmental image. If you go back and re take this image look at what represents you as a person. Do you like make-up? Take a picture at your dressing table, if you have one and shoot through the mirror surrounded by make up. Is photography your passion? Take a picture of yourself surrounded by your equipment. As this is and environmental portrait where the picture is posed and of the person we need the person looking at the camera to give a full sense of the story you are trying to tell. I really like the way you have taken the feedback on board and include more props and have move/zoomed closer to your subject, you just need them looking at the camera. KR- You have applied the brief perfectly to achieve an environmental portrait. You have captured the job of the woman effectively that I understand what she is doing and where she is. Although you have shown you know what an environmental portrait is and what elements are needed I think you need to think about your composition a bit. I think you needed to take the photo straight on to the worker to cut out the left hand side of the image so that we are just focusing on the person and not what is going on around her. We also found the right amount of lighting in this image to perfect and highlight the shape we were dealing with. We played out with a few windows and found that this circular one delivered the best results! Instead of trying to contrast light in this image we tried to enhance natural light and bring out and eliminate the shadows the window brought on my face! I think this image was a little harder to angle and again took a few times to get right! There was a lot of trial and error with where we placed the flashgun for light but we got better at seeing where it worked best. We first used it on its own and then experimented with coloured gels which i really like the effect of as well as changing the direction of the light. I also really like how the mirror reflection worked.
