They were made to be forced into a small metal cage. People assumed that the restaurant owner had already killed other dogs in front of the eight dogs. That could have left a lot of trauma for them. Chock Dee wanted to chew its way out of the cage. I think it was done to escape the cage. What: the owner of Chock Dee has plans to slaughter dogs and make them into soup, thus Chock Dee was next. However, Michael Chour stopped the owner and rescue some of the dogs there, including Chock Dee.

The restaurant owner was able to agree to let Chock Dee go. However, Michael Chour made the difficult decision to leave the other dogs which were unable to be saved. 
This experience gave Michael Chour a lot of trauma. I assume it was due to the things he saw.
