They made bigger and better models throughout the war, even going to far as to make trip wire flame throwers that released 30 gallons of fuel in one second. This made the range of the flame up to 15 feet. 
Bazookas-  After Germany captured several bazookas from North Africa and made their own revised version we start to see them more in WWII.  The German bazooka was much more superior to the American version and started to cause real damage.  Destroying tanks and bunkers. 
Atomic Bombs-  The first ever atomic bomb was deployed by the United States in Hiroshima. Killing 80,000 people immediately and wiping out 90 percent of the city. Many more people would later die of radiation poisoning. Atomic bombs are mainly made out of Plutonium.

Went to West Point and Invented the "Patton Sword". Participated during the summer Olympics of 1912. First saw battle in 1916. He is best known for his leadership of the US third Army in France and Germany. 
Winston Churchill- Was the Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1940-1945. received the Nobel Peace Prize in literature. He was Prime Minister a second time but had a massive stroke. In a 2002 Poll he was named the Greatest Briton of all time. 
Adolf Hitler- Leader of the Nazi party and dictator to Germany. He initiated WWII in Europe with the invasion of Poland. He was the central figure of the Holocaust. This was supposed to prevent the US from entering WWII, but had the opposite effect. The US had a swift retaliation. Over 2,400 Americans were killed with over 1,000 more injured. The attack on Pearl Harbor happened without a declaration of war and was later tried in Tokyo as a War Crime. 
D-Day- The largest seaborne invasion in history. The combination of 24,000 US, British, and Canadian troops landed a little after midnight. An estimated 16,000 people died on D-Day. The months after this day was the turning point for the Allies. 
The Manhattan Project- Produced the first nuclear bombs. Employed 130,000 people and cost nearly 2 billion dollars. Little Boy and Fat Man were the bombs that resulted from the project. They took many of the factory and office jobs previously held by men while they were fighting in the war. In order to recruit women in factory jobs they made "Rosie the Riveter". They even gave women lessons on how to apply makeup.(which wasn't rationed during the war)Keeping women looking their best was thought to be important for morale. 
Red Cross- Red Cross workers went over seas to help in hospitals in ships and trains. They also supplied comfort and aid to the families of the men in the military. They shipped over 300,000 tons of supplies overseas. They prepared over 27 million packages for American and Allied prisoners of war. They also served doughnuts and coffee.
WWII Medicine- WWII saw many new advancements in medicine such as Morphine and penicillin. Pharmaceutical companies began mass producing antibiotics ad medicines during WWII. They found cures for strep and Malaria as well. The Nazi's believed that the Germans were superior and that the Jews were a social threat. This mass killing was called "The Final Solution".
Nuremberg War Crime Trials- A set of Military trials held by the Allied forces after WWII. This was held to convict 24 of the biggest leaders of the Nazi party with War crimes and crimes against humanity. (Holocaust) Norman Brickett was the trying judge from Great Britain. 8 or more of them committed suicide before capture or execution.
Stalin's Genocide- Ukraine wanted their independence for many years before Stalin's reign. After the death of their previous leader they declared their independence. This idea was soon squandered by Josef Stalin. Stalin designed a famine that would kill 7,000,000. This area was known as the bread basket of Europe and yet they starved to death.
