Then, it's like all the languages, you need to work to learn the words, the grammar... It's too easy to say that it's hard if we don't work !! 
My main motivation is that maybe one day I will work in Finland and having A1 level in Finnish can be benefit on my CV if I want to be hired in a big company.

But considering the fact that I started to learn Finnish in Finland, I hope that would make it easier. Unfortunately, since I arrived in Finland I haven't felt that Finnish's similarity with my mother tongue would help me. However, for me, learning a new language is not as easy as other people, and also, the short time we have to learn the basics of Finnish (less than a semester) is challenging. On the other hand, I find this experience funny because at least I understand one word of a very, very, very large sentence. Maybe I won't use this language more than this semester, but learning about other culture by their language is interesting, because at least in mi situation, I'm more interested in languages now (I think I had forgotten the interesting and exciting part of learning a new language) and I'm really thinking in learn one more. The main point may be the vocabulary that is really different from french, unlike spanish or english that have some similar words. Also,the long words are really impossible to follow with.
