Trip to Solo

Mario Christian Junior | 12230041

As the final bell rang on our last day of high school, a wave of excitement and liberation washed over us – me, Jaka, and Nanda. We decided to embark on a memorable journey to celebrate our newfound freedom. The destination? Solo, a city filled with rich culture and breathtaking landscapes.

Choosing the train as our mode of transportation, we eagerly boarded, ready for the 600-kilometer adventure that lay ahead. The rhythmic clatter of the train on the tracks echoed our anticipation, as we chatted about the memories we were leaving behind and the adventures waiting to unfold.

Nine hours on the train gave us the perfect opportunity to reflect on our high school days, share dreams for the future, and indulge in a game or two to pass the time. Laughter and excitement filled the air as we watched the scenery change from bustling urban landscapes to serene countryside.

Upon reaching Solo, we were greeted by the warm embrace of the locals and the vibrant atmosphere of the city. Our first stop was Mount Mongkrang, standing tall and majestic. The trek to the summit tested our endurance, but the panoramic view of Solo from above made every step worthwhile. The sunset painted the sky in hues of orange and pink, creating a magical moment etched in our memories.

Next on our list was Telaga Sarangan, a hidden gem nestled in the hills. The journey to the lake was an adventure in itself, with winding paths and lush greenery guiding us. As we reached the tranquil shores, we couldn't resist dipping our feet in the cool water, sharing stories, and savoring the peace that enveloped us.

Our final destination was Karanganyar, a place with a rich cultural heritage. Exploring the local markets, sampling traditional cuisine, and interacting with the friendly locals added a cultural flair to our journey. We found ourselves immersed in the charm of Solo, making new friends and creating bonds that transcended our high school years.

As our trip came to an end, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the experiences we shared. The train ride back home was filled with a mix of nostalgia and contentment, as we marveled at the distance we had covered – not just in kilometers but in the growth and camaraderie that defined our post-graduation adventure. The memories of Mount Mongkrang, Telaga Sarangan, and Karanganyar became the chapters of a story that marked the beginning of a new chapter in our lives.

Mira Amelia Prayitno (12230062)

Yesterday, my family and I hiked Mount Bongkok in the Purwakarta area. I left home at 4 a.m. to get to the train station. Upon arriving at the station, I took a local train to reach Purwakarta station. After reaching Purwakarta station, my family and I took public transportation that would take us to the area near the mountain. Once we arrived, we filled out our personal information and obtained tickets. At 10 a.m., we began our ascent of the mountain, reaching the summit around noon. The view at the peak was incredibly beautiful, making it an exciting experience for me. At 2 p.m., my family and I descended from the mountain and reached the base around 3:30 p.m., getting ready to head home.

I went there using busway public transportation, just before leaving we scanned the busway card so I could enter the busway, but when I scanned the card, it turned out that the balance I had on the card was empty, so my friend and I refilled it again at the minimarket nearest. After that, I could only enter the busway. And by the way, the interesting thing about this story is that me and my friend walked from home to the busway terminal, and back again from the busway terminal to the minimarket because my card balance was empty. So for me that was the highlight of the day.

Once upon a time, on a sunny Saturday morning, my friends and I decided to embark on a spontaneous journey to Bandung, the picturesque city nestled amidst lush greenery and cool mountain air.

As we strolled through the bustling Braga Street, the charming colonial architecture and vibrant street art painted a vivid picture of Bandung's rich history. Our first stop was a quaint coffee shop, where the aroma of freshly brewed local coffee filled the air. The sight of it against the clear blue sky was truly awe-inspiring. We couldn't resist taking a plethora of photos to capture the moment.

Lunchtime beckoned, and we ventured to a local eatery to savor traditional Sundanese cuisine. The flavors of nasi timbel, sambal, and various local delicacies danced on our taste buds, leaving us craving more.

Energized and ready for more adventures, we headed to the breathtaking Tangkuban Perahu volcano. There we visited my father's friend, he has a very large garden area and several fish ponds. At that time my parents and their friends were enjoying the food that was served, then my friends and I went to play while looking at the fish pond that was owned by my father's friend. Unexpectedly, it turned out that the fish pond was very far from my father's friend's residence. However, because of our high curiosity, we both insisted on walking to the pool even though our parents had forbidden it. The road to the pool was very slippery and there were very large holes, we continued our journey but unfortunately we slipped into the hole, we shouted for help for a while then our parents came to help us. And congratulations, we promise not to ignore our parents' messages

A journey to Mt. Gede / Perjalanan ke Gunung Gede

An invitation came from a colleague of photography, Abot – which invites me to climb to Mt Gede.

A pretty tempting challenge I think, as I had never climb a mountain in West Java before, so this is the very first time I go to Mt Gede. After getting information about the height of the mountain, the level of humidity and its terrain (of course out of Google I get this) – I said YES to the challenge. Incidentally at that time, were still days after Iedul Fitri, so I think this would be lonely ride to the mountain.

Agreed with the day of departure and return, we divide the task on logistics and luggage. Once everything is clear, we are ready to go. Just two of us, because others has cancel to join. It doesn’t matter.

Departing from ciracas – Kampung Rambutan Bus Station – Cibodas we reached within approximately 4 hours; passable traffic jams in Ciawi’s area to Puncak. Once we completed the administrative there, and eat – we decided to rest. Mean while we waiting for the time to go up the mountain, it is schedule to start at 04.00 am.

The time was half past three when we were awakened by our colleague, and we joined another group which 5 people. It is fun when getting new friends on this trip. We prayed together before the start of the climb. Each ascent or a trip to be very heavy when first footstep, am I right?

The air is bright and pretty cold this morning; my jacket and gloves quite warm to my body and hands. After hundred meters walk, my body began to sweat – my breath and my legs begin to comply with the conditions. Soon, the sun began to show its light and the air started a little warmer – it force me take off my jacket and gloves. I wear the t-shirt to make the trip more comfortable. In several times I had to stop just to catch my breath and quench my thirst.

The hiking track of Mt. Gede is comfortable I can say. The footpath is quite large and has been laid out neatly with stones. After some times past stops, we arrived at the junction heading towards the peak of Gede and Pangrango – while the other direction toward to waterfall. From these clues, we get the information that the peak of Mount Gede was still 8.5 Km.

Tony Chandra Erlangga

12.1A.10

12230010

Halimah Tussa'adiyah |12230071| 12.1A.10

when I was in semester holidays my family and I visited my grandmother in Solo. We spent 2 weeks. But when I arrived in Solo I saw a post on Instagram that there would be a Solo batik carnival. I went to the Solo Batik Carnival with my sister and my friend. When the carnival started, the event started with regional dances. Then after that we were shown arts such as reog performances and a kind of wayang but it was big but could be ridden by people and there were traditional music performances in the wayang. After that the solo batik carnival performance began with various kinds of clothes from each village in Solo and clothes that were creative, beautiful and unique. The various colors and styles are very interesting and amazing! I'm happy to see an event with a traditional feel like this. Then the event finished at 5 pm and we went home. On the way we bought "baso ojek" snacks for 200 rupiah. I was surprised by the price of the meatballs, it was honestly very cheap, but the taste was delicious. The seller said they still made a profit from the sale. I will never forget an experience because I saw the batik show and cheap snacks there.

I was drawn to the T-shirt painting competition, so I joined with my mother by my side. It was an experience I deeply miss as I felt the warmth of my mother's love. After the competition, we headed home, and at the office gate, there was a balloon seller. I cried, asking for a balloon, initially not allowed, but due to sympathy, my parents eventually bought one for me. On the way home, I was ecstatic playing with it, but my joy turned to sadness when the balloon popped, hitting a sharp object on the ceiling. Now, looking back, I feel a mixture of nostalgia and sadness, realizing that during that time, my parents were facing financial difficulties but still went to great lengths to make me happy in any way they could.

Hilwa alfiyah basmah 12230101 (12.1A.10)

A few months ago, it was my birthday and I got a gift to go to Bromo, specifically in East Java. I felt very happy because it was the first time I went there and on my birthday. There I really enjoyed the view of the sunrise directly from the top of the mountain. I like mountains, so I was really excited when I saw the view directly from the top. Riding a jeep is a really cool experience in my opinion where the road is surrounded by edelweiss flowers. And the air was very cool during the day. My family and I walked from the jeep parking towards the Bromo crater, even though the distance was quite far, it didn't matter to me. One thing I like the most is that I can get to the bottom of the Bromo crater and take photos with my family. After taking photos, my family and I walked back to the jeep parking lot which was approximately 3 km away, quite tired. After that we hurried to go home but we didn't go straight back to Jakarta, we first stopped by the Prambanan temple and stopped by my grandmother's house, whose house is not far from there. I felt very happy to be able to meet my grandmother. After stopping all day at my grandmother's house, my family and I rushed to a hotel in the Jogja area. We stayed overnight and in the evening went to Malioboro to buy souvenirs. After shopping, we went back to the hotel to rest because the next morning we had to go back to Jakarta. That's all my story, thank you.

We chose to stay for two days and one night in a villa filled with natural nuances and comfort. Before leaving, we checked our needs and brought supplies for the trip. Our pre-dawn departure not only provided morning freshness, but also avoided busy traffic. The journey to Villa Omah Gunung was filled with laughter and family stories, creating warmth and familiarity. Arriving at the villa, cool mountain air and stunning views greeted us. During our stay, we enjoyed various activities such as swimming, karaoke, billiards, table tennis and enjoyed delicious meals that we cooked together. The highlight of our holiday was in the evening, where we held gift exchange activities and various fun games. The warm atmosphere and family togetherness became increasingly felt, strengthening our inner ties. Villa Omah Gunung is not only a place to rest, but also a witness to the celebration of family togetherness and happiness. It was my longest trip there because I wanted to meet my grandfather for almost 50 years and it was my family's first meeting with my grandfather, I spent 27 hours to go to Pagar Alam. During the trip I was given a view of the seafront and forest, I also missed the forest from 6 pm to 12 pm, and in the forest my grandfather said there were still tigers and elephants like to roam in the forest sometimes elephants like to block the road but thank God I did not have elephants or tigers passing on the road that I missed, but there were forest monkeys on the side of the road. When I arrived I was greeted by my grandmother who was over 100 years old, there was also my grandfather from Bengkulu and what I was amazed at was that one village said my grandfather "all my brothers" I was surprised that one village was all brothers and I was confused to memorize them all. and the most fun was that every morning we were given durian and there the price of durian was very cheap only 5000 rupiah imagine durian here is very very expensive, and behind my grandfather's house close to Mount Dempo.

During that holiday, my father, mother, and I decided to visit my grandmother's house in Lamongan. I went on the night bus. I felt very happy and couldn't wait to meet Grandma.

The first day after arriving in Lamongan, my family and I spent time gathering with our extended family at my grandmother's house. Grandma was very happy because her house was busy with the arrival of her grandchildren, who were on school holidays. The other siblings and I can also stay overnight and play together.

The first day, the other cousins and I started playing together in my grandmother's backyard. There, we can raise chickens with an uncle and plant flowers with an aunt. My cousins and I also had quite a lot of activities at Grandma's house. We could go to my grandfather's field, play in the rice fields, and even eat together in the hut.

The next day, my extended family and I went to Wahana Bahari Lamongan (WBL). There, my little friend and I played flying fox and ATV. My family and I dared to play Ghost Hospital. I was frightened by the ghost appearance and immediately left the game. In the evening, we bought several Lamongan souvenirs.

Two weeks of vacation at my grandparents' house always make an impression on me. Apart from meeting my grandparents, I can also meet other cousins and spend time together. That holiday was the most memorable holiday of my entire life.

The road stretched ahead, winding through picturesque landscapes, each turn unveiling a new vista of lush green fields and vibrant rice paddies.

As we approached Indramayu, the vibrant hues of the agricultural landscape intensified, painting a panorama of verdant greens and golden browns. The air grew thick with the earthy aroma of fertile soil, a testament to the rich agricultural heritage of this region. Anticipation buzzed through the air, each of us eager to witness the sustainable farming practices that had garnered Indramayu such acclaim.

Upon arriving at our destination, we were warmly greeted by Pak Budi, a seasoned agriculturist who exuded a passion for organic farming that was as infectious as it was inspiring. With a twinkle in his eyes and a wealth of knowledge, he welcomed us into his world, inviting us to embark on a journey of discovery into the heart of Indramayu's sustainable farming practices.

One of the key activities that caught our attention was the preparation of organic compost. Pak Budi explained that they collect agricultural waste, such as rice straw, animal manure, and fallen leaves, and carefully decompose them using natural methods. This nutrient-rich compost is then used to enrich the soil, boosting crop yields and promoting soil health.

ongki marselino

12.1A.10

12230033

The sun illuminated my journey back to Boyolali, my homeland that captivated my heart. After years away from the village, the excitement of returning to familiar grounds was palpable. It was a special moment, a cultural adventure in my hometown, where traditions awaited with open arms.

Setting foot in Boyolali, returning to my family home in Kalangan Village, I was greeted by the refreshing rural air and the gentle breeze carrying the fragrance of rice paddies. Grandma welcomed me with her warm smile, offering nostalgic childhood snacks.

One evening, the subtle sounds of gamelan signaled a Wayang performance at the village hall. Curiosity and excitement filled my heart. The usually quiet village came alive, buzzing with anticipation as people gathered for the spectacle.

With my family, I hurried to the village hall. The warm reception from the villagers made us feel like part of a larger family. As the lights dimmed, the melodic gamelan tunes prepared us to enter the world of Wayang.

The dalang, with mastery, brought the Wayang characters to life. The enchanting colored shadows danced across the screen. The tales of Ramayana and Mahabharata, the essence of Wayang's beauty, unfolded with indescribable charm. Scene after scene immersed us in the epic adventure.

The atmosphere inside the village hall was vibrant. Cheers from the audience, laughter, and the tension of the story made us feel deeply involved. We were drawn into the narrative passionately performed by the dalang.

After the show, the joyful atmosphere lingered. With the villagers, we shared impressions and stories from the performance. While enjoying light refreshments, we exchanged experiences and cherished moments.

Leaving the Wayang performance, my heart was filled with excitement. The unforgettable experience was a window that opened my eyes to the richness of culture and traditions, beautifully preserved in Kalangan Village.

Returning to Grandma's house, a mix of happiness and nostalgia filled me. This extraordinary experience will always be an unforgettable memory in every step I take in my homeland. Occasionally, I gaze at the night sky in Boyolali, hoping that someday I'll relive the beauty of Wayang and the warmth of culture in the mesmerizing Kalangan Village.

In December 2018, my school friends and I had the opportunity to visit the island of Bali as part of a Study Tour with Dipo Tour and Travel. The trip to Bali Island from the city of Depok takes 2 days by bus. There were many fun stories that couldn't be told while on the trip and of course made us even more impatient to arrive on the island of Bali. When we arrived on the island of Bali, we were immediately given a place to rest in a 5-star hotel. Then the next day we had the opportunity to visit GWK Cultular Park, there the building was very beautiful and made me amazed by its charm. Then the next day my friends and I had the opportunity to visit Jimbaran Beach and have dinner there accompanied by the beautiful sunset together. On the last day we visited a very holy temple, namely Tanah Lot Bali, there are two separate temples, one on a large rock and the other on a cliff. Three days on the island of Bali made me and my friends amazed by the buildings and cultures there, which made us really want to go back there.

Aldo Pratama 121A10

Last year, on my holiday, my family decided to go to a city we have never been before. This time, we picked Yogyakarta. From what i knew before i went to the trip, Yogyakarta is a busy city that is filled with culture. It still have a unique government system called the keraton. I also heard that it has a variety of culinary treats that i could try. Long before the trip, i was already excited to go.

On Sunday morning, i arrived at Yogyakarta and went straight to my hotel which was located near the Malioboro street. After that my family and i went straight to Keraton Yogyakarta. It was a white, big building that stands near the town square. To get there, we went with a rented car. There were a lot of stalls that sells crafts there so i bought a t-shirt and five keychain. Then we went into the place with the ticket we have bought. The place was very beautiful. Although the building itself is old, it felt timeless and grand. We studied the history of the place and the people that lived there. Finally, we went out and ate in the nearby restaurant. The rest of the Sunday was spent resting in the hotel so that we have the strength to travel the next day.

Monday morning arrived with it’s blue sky and golden sunlight. My father and I ran accross the city in the morning so that we could get to know the city better. After that, we packed our bags to go to Borobudur. It was a long trip but after hours of car ride we finally arrived there. The place was clean and very spacious. From afar, we can already see the Borobudur temple from far away because it is so big. My family climbed hundreds of steps to reach the top. By the time we reached the top, it was already four o’clock in the evening. I couldn’t believe my eyes because the scenery was so beautiful. The top of the Borobudur temple overlooked the whole city. I could see trees and buildings for miles. With the sunlight, it was even more beautiful.

The next days we spent trying the food in Yogyakarta. My favorite was the bakpia which is a kind of local dessert that is filled with a variety of fillings. The filling i like most is the cheese one. Because i loved it so much, i bought two boxes of bakpia.

On Thursday morning, i flew back to Jakarta. I was really sad to leave the city because it was the best travel destination so far. I wish i could go back to Yogyakarta now.

I mustered up the courage to ask if I could also learn to speak English like them. My parents smiled and assured me that when we returned home from our vacation, my mother would teach me how to speak English fluently.

In the morning we gathered at our friend Andi's house, then we went together on motorbikes. After traveling for approximately 12 hours, we finally arrived at 6 pm. We rested for a few minutes at the coffee shop and ordered some food for dinner. After finishing dinner, we decided to hang out for a while in Malioboro. There, we enjoyed several songs from street singers that made us not want to leave. Without realizing it, it was already 3 am, then we drove towards our friend's rented house in Janturan, Umbul Harjo. Once there, we went to bed. The next day, around 9 am, we prepared our things to take to Kukup beach tonight. I got a job buying charcoal, corn and chickens to make party cakes on the beach. After everything was ready, at 5 pm we went to Kukup beach by motorbike. After an hour of travel, we arrived at the campground. Without waiting long, we set up a small tent on the beach. After the tent was ready, then we rested, enjoyed coffee and played guitar. After that we made a campfire to roast corn and chicken until midnight.

We rode a motorcycle from Depok to Bandung. Our destination was the famous Kawah Ratu at Tangkuban Perahu. The ride itself was an adventure, with beautiful scenery along the way. I felt excited as we approached the volcano. The cool mountain air and the smell of sulfur greeted us. Standing at the edge of the crater, I marveled at the sight. It was both eerie and fascinating. Like usual, i went sleep at 11.00 PM. I slept very soundly that night. My position was lying on the spring bed at the bottom and facing the wall which was only a few centimeters from my view. I hugged the bolster so that i can sleep soundly. I woke up at 3 in the morning, I glanced behind me and saw the figure of a little girl coming down from above, her body was covered in a shiny but blurry gray color. When I wanted to get up, the little girl was touched my waist, the feeling of her touch was different from normal human touch. In that situation, I tried to get up and fight, but my body couldn't move. My vision became blurry and the little girl said "Where are you going?". The voice was right next to my ear and made me scared, my vision became black like blind people. A few seconds later, things returned to normal and the little woman disappeared. My vision recovered, my body could also be moved and I checked my waist which had been touched, there were no signs or mark. I'm very sure it wasn't a dream.

Jamhari

(12240004)

-----Given the situation in 2020 when the Corona virus spread and became a pandemic, it did not dampen my spirit to go on a mountain climbing trip. In August, I started climbing Mount Lawu, coinciding with the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. I intended to celebrate the independence on the mountain peak, even though I knew that the virus pandemic was still ongoing. The desire to climb could not be suppressed.

The climbing journey began at 7 in the morning. I, along with my friends, departed with a group of 8 people. We started the climb even though the weather was foggy. I did not expect the journey to be crowded with visitors, but it turned out to be very busy with other climbers on the trail. However, with patience and caution, my group of 8 people managed to reach the camping site before nightfall. The next day, in the morning, we started the journey towards the summit of Mount Lawu. Along with other climbers, we raced as if competing for independence and finally reached the crowded summit. There, we sang the national anthem together. This was one of my greatest experiences celebrating independence on the peak of Mount Lawu.

We arrived in the morning, greeted by cool air and clear skies. After breakfast at a cafe in Dago, we headed to Kawah Putih, famous for its mystical scenery. The journey there was a bit challenging, but the beauty of the volcanic lake made all the exhaustion disappear. In the afternoon, we visited the iconic Braga Street, lined with art deco buildings and vintage shops. We stopped at a legendary pastry shop and enjoyed the famous pie susu. In the evening, we strolled around the busy Alun-Alun Bandung, enjoying the lively atmosphere. Along the way, we savored Bandung's local delicacies like batagor and siomay. The natural beauty and the friendliness of the people of Bandung truly made this trip unforgettable. Bandung always has its own charm, making me want to return someday.

A Trip to Sawarna Beach

Meysa Nur Prapbian | 12240039 | 12.1B.10

On September 8, 2024, my friends and I went to Sawarna Beach in Banten. The five of us traveled from Depok to Banten, which took about 5 hours. Upon arriving at our lodging, we immediately rested because the journey was exhausting. Long story short, it was already late afternoon, and we hurried to Sawarna Beach to witness the beautiful sunset. After watching the sunset, night fell, and we enjoyed the beach breeze at night while eating instant noodles by the beach, admiring the lights from ships visible at the edge of the sea. After that, we returned to our lodging and went to sleep to prepare for the next day.

The morning came at around 5:00 AM, and we quickly got ready to watch the sunrise near the beach. We witnessed the sunrise, which was truly beautiful. We didn’t forget to play in the water along the shoreline and enjoy the waves around the beach. As the day got brighter, it was time for us to leave the lodging. We soon headed back to our homes in Depok, taking another 5-hour journey. Eventually, we arrived home safely.

That was my story of a visit to Sawarna Beach in Banten with my friends during the holiday.

Gabriel Daniel Mangeber | 12240033

On December 27, 2024, I went to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) with my two friends. We went there in the afternoon by bicycle. We explored TMII and admired the cultural buildings representing Indonesia's diversity and its iconic feature, the map of Indonesia.

That day, we also planned to watch the fountain show, which was very popular at the time, but the show was scheduled for the evening. So, we continued exploring, tried kerak telor, a traditional Indonesian dish, and rode the cable car.

When it was time to watch the fountain show, the place was very crowded, but we still managed to enjoy it. That day was a memorable holiday for me because I got to see the fountain show, spend quality time with my friends, and enjoy cycling together.
