If we focus on the figure of the little ones, they usually leave their shoes in front of the fireplace during La nuit de Nöel in the hope that Santa Claus will fill them with gifts. It is also common to decorate the Christmas tree with sweets. It is common for parents to respond to letters their children send to Santa by posing as him. Finally, we must also highlight the mass that is celebrated on Christmas Eve and is known as “Messe de Minuit.” After the mass, a great party known by the name of “Le Réveillon” begins that lasts until the wee hours of the morning.
