https://padlet.com/Ellen_Bowen/About Ellen Bowen, a music educator and director with decades of experience in her field, directs major shows for Michigan’s Grosse Pointe Community Theatre. In the fall of 2017, she directed The Pirates of Penzance, and earlier in the year, she directed Fiddler on the Roof. For her work on The Pirates of Penzance, Ellen Bowen earned a Clarence Award for outstanding music direction. Ms. Bowen has also led music programs at several Michigan high schools. Among these, she oversaw the choral music program at Grosse Pointe South High School for 26 years, during which time the program achieved major milestones, including several National Show Choir titles. The school’s choir toured Europe regularly, giving students the opportunity to see the world. Ellen Bowen graduated from Ball State University with a bachelor of science in music and social studies and achieved her master's in music from Oakland University.
