The Carpathians are stretching across several regions. They are known for their beautiful landscapes, dense forests and rich biodiversity. The highest peak in the Ukrainian Carpathians is Hoverla, which rises to 2,061 metres. This region is also famous for its traditional villages, mineral springs, and ski resorts.

The Crimean Mountains are located in the southern part of the Crimean Peninsula. They are much smaller than the Carpathians. The highest peak, Roman-Kosh, reaches 1,545 metres.
