I think that the most important take-away here would be being able to truly understand the meaning behind the name of the course. We often no longer bother to retain the information we've learned from our past classes once they are over, so being able to understand the meaning behind BIGKIS stands as a reminder for us to cherish these lessons we learn as we go through school (and in life) in order to not only become better versions of our past selves, but become better persons for others as well.

The most important take-away that I got is that even though we are in the online setting and COVID is still a problem in the world. This should not stop us from trying to become better people and from helping out our fellow citizens as well. Through NSTP, we are able to improve ourselves and the situation of other people and by understanding the lessons we learn from this subject, we are able to keep this same mindset in our future.

Online classes and the ever-persistent COVID pandemic admittedly puts privileged students like me in a bubble. But problems like poverty don't stop for anything, not even a deadly virus. Wide-scale national issues are still prevalent, and we shouldn't let a mere screen block us off from interacting with our kapwa and striving to empathize and help them. I think that this module stresses the fact that even if our Bigkis experience won't be as exciting and as meaningful as an in-person one would be, we are all in this together to still make the most out of the time we have for this course.

In addition, through the integration of Bigkis and Socsci, I believe that we will be able to understand situations more deeply leading to the creation of positive solutions. We should use this opportunity to help others in the little ways that we can while growing in character and becoming a better person and citizen.

My greatest takeaway from the Bigkis Program Orientation is how this course will allow us to engage with our kapwa, understand their situations, and address the societal issues related to the sectors. This is also a great learning opportunity as we are expected to bring together and apply what we have learned from our social science and management courses. On top of that, Bigkis reminds us that as we strive to be professionals for-and-with others, we should not forget to take care of our well-being as well.

One of my main takeaways from the orientation module so far would be that the online setting should not be a barrier for us, students, to connect with our kapwa and to deepen our understanding of the complexities and contexts of society. This we are able to actualize through our having subjects like SocSc and NSTP wherein we absorb both theoretical and practical knowledge and experiences. Plus, we also get to serve or aid our kapwa while doing so, Given this, we must strive to make the most out of such worthwhile experiences despite the current conditions.

My key takeaway is to maximize this experience because it serves as an opportunity to grow by understanding new perspectives and creating meaningful connections with our partner community. We get to interact with a community once more and use all the lessons we got not just from this NSTP class but also the ones before it. Module 0 shows us that there are still a lot of ways interacting with different communities even in an online setting.
