I believe the semiotics in terms of spaces relates to the way they are transmitted. For example, I think it is quite easy to tell if you are in a primary class versus a bachillerato class. Primary classrooms tend to be filled with lots of color and eye-popping material on the walls and throughout the classroom whereas classes for bachillerato students tend to be more simplistic. Gender perspective plays a major part in space design, especially when referring to houses and gardens. Women prefer to add delicate touches to spaces. While men are generally okay with living in a simple place with nothing on the walls or anything to display, women tend to make their spaces more “homey”, meaning that they like to add pictures, plants, everything matches and has a general theme, so to speak. Women also like to tend their free time in the garden whereas men prefer to spend it in the garage.
I think spaces and decoration have a meaning whatsoever. There is an oriental theory named Feng Shui that explains how objects and spaces should be decorated to atract the good energy. I believe light and orientation of the spaces afect directly over our mood and decitions. Schools have started to decorate their spaces to breack with old ways of teaching and influence students minds. (Álvaro

Yes my house is full of signals and spaces decorated by my wife. For example plants and candles or even incense. These objects represent her personality. There are also objects that come from our girls decoration and explain their time growing into the house. It´s very nice to see how the whole house is full of signals open to be interpreted.

The idea that I have of construction after having studied the engineering career of the building, is that they are not usually created singular houses with indefinite budgets in which it is possible to unleash the imagination of the architect and adapt the construction itself to the Future buyer of the home. So in most cases unless you are Gaudi in most cases is played with the decoration, not with the building. But if I had to build a house exclusively for women I would leave an exclusive room as a dressing room attached to each bedroom, expand the bathrooms and give them mirrors and light according to the hours that can be spent in these rooms. While for men perhaps think of a refrigerator where they fit a few more beers or an exclusive room for tools, where to wash the car ... Depending on the needs of the consumer (Santi)
