Your friend, Jerry, is coming to visit your city/country and has asked you to write a letter to advise him on general etiquette such as house rules, table manners and etiquette in public places.

In this short letter I can show you some things about general etiquette in my country, I'm going to describe some table manners.

First at all, it is normal if you arrive one hour later after the time of the invitation, because if you arrive so punctually it can mean that you are really hungry or it is possible that the dinner is not ready. 

You don't need bring a gift with you, but if you want, you can bring a dessert or a wine. 

When you arrive it's really polite that you make a handshake with men and give a kiss to women. In my country, age is not a problem. All people start to eat the dinner at the same time, just wait until everyone sits down. Usually, you have to wash your hands before and after eating the dinner, please try not to make a noise while you are eating. Also, when you finish your dinner and you want to leave the table, pick up the dishes and put them in the kitchen. When you are a guest, the host will pick up the dishes, but it is polite if you try to do so. When you leave the table, you should push the chair back.

In Korea you should not touch the person who you meet.

It's quite impolite in Korea.

And when you eat something, you need to be silent.

And when you start to have meals, you must wait for the older people to start first.

I'll tell you about some very important and common manners in Japan.

At first, when you go to someone's house, you need to take off your shoes at the entrance of the house. It's our culture and it is very normal. Also, I think normally the host of the house may give you another pair of shoes for using inside the house.

Then, on public transport, you shouldn't call and talk very with a loud voice. There're especially so many people in the morning and evening, so it can make other people uncomfortable.

Next, when you meet new people, I suggest shaking hands with both hands. That way you can show your politeness to them.

At last, if you have an appointment to meet someone or go to the party, it's better to go there on time at least. If you're late, it means you keep someone waiting and that's not a good thing. They might worry that something bad has happened to you. Therefore, when you're late, you ought to inform the person that you will be late.

I'll give you information about a few of my country's manners.

First, you have to shake hands using your two hands when you introduce yourself.

And if you are invited to someone's house, you need to take off your shoes at the entrance, and bring some sweets or snacks as a small present. It's minimum etiquette for us .

When you toast with an older person, you ought to raise your glass a bit lower than that of the person.

So happy to hear you're coming to the US! I'm happy to share some cultural norms and rules of etiquette with you. Because Americans come from all over the place, there are so many different customs. It's probably best to try and follow whatever behaviours people seem to be displaying wherever you are. for example, my mother always asks people to take off their shoes when they enter our house, but lots of my friends and family don't care. As for table manners, the most common polite behaviours would include waiting for everyone to be served before you begin eating, always compliment the cook (even if it's not that great), but don't worry about not accepting a second helping if someone offers - it's completely acceptable to say "no thanks, I'm full."

You must take off you shoes if you want to walk inside the house in order not to make the house dirty because sidewalks are usually full of mud. However,if you forget this rule nobody will care much. 

In terms of punctuality, you can come to a birthday party or another host invitation at any time you convenient for you, but for a business meeting you must be on time.

During the eating time you shouldn't keep you hands under the table.It is forbidden to swim in public fountains or streams but if the police are not nearby it's OK. In public places, you should give way to pregnant women.

How are you? Can you confirm when you are arriving in Brazil? 

I have some advice that can help you with etiquette and general manners of Brazilians. First of all, you should be on time in a date or meeting appointment. Being late is just allowed when a friend invites you to his/her house. In case you go sleep in a friends house you must check the times for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and be on time to enjoy the meal with your friend. 

You might also need to be careful when you visit touristic places. Some places could be dangerous, so never walk alone. Another thing is try to put your cellphone and camera in a safe place. When you arrive, let me know and we can go to the beach or drink in some pub.

This Saturday is a wedding ceremony of Yuto! Everyone in our class will come to the ceremony. Are you okay to come with us? You must bring plenty of money if you will come. And you should give it as a gift. But make sure money is an odd number. Don't worry, everybody's going to do that. Trust me. If you don't have money, don't worry you can use check ha ha :)))

In addition, you need to write a letter to them. The letter might mention things that are funny things, impressive things or surprises. It is also the present. You can make a speech or video to wish for their happiness, Or you can sing a song. You must not say rude things in the letter, speech and video. After the wedding, there is a big party. You can drink a lot of alcohol for free. It's going to be super fun. So let's enjoy that moment and wish them happiness!

I'm glad to hear that you are coming to Thailand but our culture is totally different so there is some etiquette you should know to survive here. 

The most important thing when you meet other people is to put your hands together, especially with people who are older than you, you must do it first to show respect. For the younger, they will do it first then you will put your hands together. That will mean you accept their behaviour. 

Touching someone is prohibited because it is considered seriously sexual. The guy must not touch any girls they don't know. It's quite strange if you ask someone how they are. It would be better to say hello, what are you doing? or where are you going?

There is another thing you should know: it's rude to say someone's mother/father's name, even someone in their family, actually it's a bad word for us. Try to avoid touching someone's head. It's great to smile with everyone you see and try to respect older people as much as possible. When you enter someone's home, you have to take off your shoes in front of the house.

Catalunya is a small country between France and Spain, and we have a lot of things to do!

You should come in spring or summer, because we have a really nice beach, lakes, and mountains.

In my country we are bilingual, but you should say some words in Catalan, they will be very grateful, and they will be very friendly with you!

If you are invited to a friend's house to dinner, you should bring a bottle of wine and also desserts.

The second is optional, but generally it is better to ask your friend if you need to bring something or not.

It's very important to arrive on time, and if you go late you might send a text.

When we go to a restaurant, you should give a kiss to the waitress, because it is really polite!

If we meet up with friends also you should give a kiss to everyone.

When we order food from the menu, usually we share the entres, and then everyone chooses their second dish, and finally we split the bill.

It is not obligatory to give tips, so if you like the service and the food, you should give tips.

Ah!! And if you are my guest, you have to pay for my dinner! ;)

I'm really happy to hear that you're coming to my country. Before you come to Japan, I would like to give some advice and tips that you should know. Actually, there are lots of cultural differences between Japan and Australia so you might be surprised by them.

Anyway, when you visit Japan, I really recommend visiting in spring season. In spring there are many Cherry Blossoms. They are very beautiful and fantastic. Also, you can eat packed lunch under the Cherry Blossoms in the park or somewhere. It's called "Hanami". It is a traditional festival in spring season.

What's up buddy? So you are coming to my country? Nice man! I know exactly the place where we should go. 

We will go climbing in the beautiful rocks next to the Andes. I know you like snowboarding so we are going to the best place in Chile to do this. It is called Valle Nevado and is close to the city so don't worry about the distance. In order to survive in the mountains, you must have good shoes, though :)

After this exciting week we will go to Maitencillo. For me, this is one of the most beautiful beaches in Chile to relax and see the best sunset. We can do surfing, too, with my two beautiful friends, Sofia and Maria Juana.

In the home, you don't have to worry too much but you must bring "smiles" ha ha. In Chile, we want to be happy all the time :)

My name is Alejandra, I'm from Colombia.

I like horse riding, in Colombia I go to the equitation club almost every week, that's one of my favourite things in the world. My first horse's name was Tarzan and my last horse's name was Pestenero.

When I'm very angry or stressed I go to the shooting club or boxing. I love extreme sports or the ones where I can burn adrenaline and a lot energy. 

My favourite music is rock, I listen music almost all day and everyday. When I'm alone I sing like a crazy girl.  I love spanish rock, and tree bands called "Extremoduro, La fuga and Marea". I like other kind of music, like jazz, blues, classical, opera, indie rock and blah blah blah.

I LOVE FOOD! Especially candies, cookies, and all the sweet food. I don't know how to cook, it's really difficult.

I study publicity, and my other favourite thing in the world is designing on Illustrator and/or photoshop. I don't know how to draw, but I can design everything in a computer, I'm really good.

What I love of my passions are that those thinks makes me happy. I thing I'm very passionated in a lot of things, and thats because I love the things that I do in my life.

Actually i don't have any dream job or somthing like that but when im little I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT ARTS. I had been always wanted to become an actress but it can never be done because my country not specialize in actor training.

But i still have an other passion about drawing especially fashion so I began to run after it since high school first grade.

And now, when i graduated high school i have change i mind to trying another course in the University and that course also have a little bit concerned about art and creativity, that is Event Management. I'm completely eager because in my future school, they will let students go to other countries to intership.

I dont know why but i really was fascinated by art, it makes me feel comfortable and relaxing. Everytime i get tired or angry, i can sit down and enjoy playing the piano to relieve mood, it could make me feeling better.

And btw, I'm cared of reading books :">

I like to eat food so always I'm thinking about foods. My last roommate also liked to eat, so we often went to eat something. There are many delicious restaurants in Sydney, for example Thai, Korean, Japanese, Vietnam food etc...

I like all of that but especially I like Thai food!! It's so nice!! Before I came to Sydney I didn't like so much because there are few Thai restaurants in Japan, so I didn't try Thai food. But now, I eat it about once per week at least. What I love most about Thai food is Phat thai. It's a kind of noodle and not spicy so I can eat all. When we shared salad, I forget the name, I was very surprised because it was too spicy!! I can't eat much just a little, but it was also yummy. I like Thai food so much!!

The thing that appeals to me the most in a job is satisfaction and fame. You have to be ambitious to reach this goal. I have a burning desire to become after my bachelor of arts a master of science next year. One day I want to work in a big company and to be a successful business woman. I also have a passion for sport. I try to get five or seven times in  the week to the gym. It's very useful when you're unhappy or in a bad mood. It helps you to  avoid stress and to get on other thoughts. Sometimes I catch my friends and we go out for a walk (or jogging). My friends and family are also a big point in my life.There always there and support me. I'm very thankful to have them.
