in India there were no paths outside of the urban, and people looked at you like crazy, there is nothing there, there is no temple, people, shop,, why do you want to go ther? we think that there are paths everywhere but this is not always the case. nature is nature, outside of europe

As a Scandinavian, walking in your local neighbourhood is easy, but that’s not the case in Singapore where there are rules and regulations about where you can and cannot walk, so you need to learn the rules and regulations of wherever you are in the world

Property in private hands is significant in Holland, but by Walking in a group, you can overcome many of these issues

Group Walking however, means that individuals have different expectations and the pace of the walk may be determined by the slowest.

Others find that it’s merely a mindset that we adopt regarding trespassing on private property frequently when you do trespass, you actually meet people who are delighted to see you ,

The loss of local nature and green patches in your local neighbourhood because of building work or land development and destruction

Highway infrastructure is often lacking for pedestrians and one has to organise groups to walk on roads with safety issues regarding traffic drains and gutters.

You often encounter situations where people have a lack of understanding of creative, walking experiences or a walking art practice, so you need to give them context. What we need to be thinking about is how we invite others to participate.

Bringing people together often develops a common experience and therefore generate a temporary community, making it clear that there’s little difference between Artist or non-artist

Walking with small children is challenging as it is also Walking as a woman - you need to have a clear understanding of where you are in the world and how you are expected to behave

Similarly it’s not easy for male Europeans to walk in Asia as you attract a lot of attention being of a different colour or size

Potential solutions that Walking Artist could offer to overcome these issues and challenges:

Walking together, but not focusing on walking art but on local history

Walking together over a long period not only draws colearning and Co discovery, but also co-creativity creating an ephemeral nomadic community.
