The blue whale is the largest animal ever to live on Earth—even bigger than the biggest dinosaurs! An adult blue whale can grow up to 30 meters long, which is about the length of three school buses, and weigh as much as 200 tons.

Despite its huge size, it feeds on tiny sea creatures called krill. Every day, a blue whale can eat up to 4 tons of krill—thats like eating 8,000 hamburgers! Its heart is also super big: it’s about the size of a small car, and a human could even crawl through its main blood vessels.

Blue whales are also known for their loud songs. Their low-frequency calls can travel hundreds of kilometers under the sea, helping them find other blue whales. Today, these amazing animals are still endangered, so protecting their ocean home is more important than ever.
