Reflection:
This video is meant to open the minds of people who believe that it is alright for people to be detained when looking for a better future. It is showing the perspective of the effects on the brain.
To me this video is showing how children are being affected by detention centers. This is important because there are people who don't believe there isn't anything wrong with detaining people who aren't welcomed into the country. I want people to see this side of the mind and how it is effected because is something the human eye cant always see.

This song was written by a man who struggled with his mental health for years. Most of his songs were written to express his mental health. Although he lost his battle many of his songs were to help other cope with the same problems that badly affect our society which is having a bad mental health.
This song although in a different language it has a really deep meaning. In this song it is basically saying that we need to accept that mistakes will be made and instead of giving ourselves a hard time we need to stop and take a deep breath and get through our struggles together.

"Its alright if you run out of breath. No one will blame. Its okay to make mistakes sometimes. Because anyone can do so. Although comforting by saying its alright are just words
Someone's breath. That heavy breath. How can I see through that? Though I can't understand your breath. It's alright I'll hold you.
You did a good job.

Joe Biden believes that there should be a path to citizenship for Dreamer. (Politico)
This element is important to me because even though I wasn't able to apply to be a DREAMER I have family who are dreamers and who would worry less about being detained or deported if they were able to become citizens. I believe this is critical because America was founded as a country built on the work of immigrants. It shows that there are people out there who are willing to put in the work to be in this country and those who want to succeed. There wouldn't be anyone hurt unless you are counting the people who have an immense amount of hate towards DREAMERS.
Elizabeth Warren believes that Private Prisons should be eliminated. (Politico)
This element is important because Private Prisons are part of the reason for Mass Incarceration. This element is important to me because prisons like these have a prison quota that the prisons have to meet. In other words, they need to have a certain amount of people in prison in order to have money. This element would hurt I guess the companies who fund these private prisons and some political figures.
Bernie Sanders is in favor of having universal background checks. (Politico)
This element is important because it ensured that the people who dont pass the complete background check will be unable to purchase a gun.. this will also ensure that there aren't loopholes of just purchasing a gun without a background check. As a student, I care for more laws protecting others from gun violence due to a large number of mass shootings taking place in schools. This will hurt the people who strongly believe in having the right to bear arms.
Joe Biden believes that students should recieve two years of college for free. (Politico)
This element is important because the first two years of college are classes that dont necessarily go towards your major if anything those two years may be filled with college class requirements. As a student who is going to college soon, I would prefer this because in those two years I can figure out my major and actually finish my required classes before transferring to a University. This would hurt the colleges who usually have their money from tuition.
Lastly, Bernie Sander believed the Electoral College should be eliminated. (Politico)
This element is important because for years people have not liked the idea of the Electoral College (larger states). However, I feel that the voting for the next president should be on the people because, in the end, it will be the people who are either badly effects or well affected by any of the laws or policies throughout the country.

I believe my new super candidate is electable because they focus on the needs of the people over the needs of companies. I feel the people that would vote for them are people who have liberal beliefs and are leaning to the Democratic party. I believe that they can come close to winning the election but not sure if it is a definite win because they haven't said their opinion on other topics.
https://www.politico.com/2020-election/candidates-views-on-the-issues/

This agent influences my political view because most of my family does have very liberal views however some of my family have conservative views in terms of being traditional values such as a relationship between a man and a woman along with the roles they have. To those conservative values, I strongly oppose them if I am ever in contact with that side of my family. I learned to be more open on equality with my family if I am ever in a situation when our values clash. The liberal views my family does have are based on our personal life. We want better pay for workers and a path for immigrants because we are of those groups.

The demographic characteristics have an influence in my political ideology. Since I am part of the younger generation we tend to have more liberal views and want to be super optimistic. We care for protection and improvement of education because we are still in that system. We care for there to be affordable healthcare because we are yet to have a stable source of income. As part of the immigrant group, my political views will be different because I would want what is best for me. I will believe that there will be a path for me to work legally and live here without any worry of being deported.

Post #8: East L.A. School Walkouts; aka the "Chicano Blowouts" & East LA 13

Summary: The East L.A. walkouts were organized by Mexican and Mexican-American students who wanted to have opportunities to seek higher education both in high schools and universities. At the time Mexican students were wanted in Universities and were often pushed to trade or vocational career choices. They fought to have no discrimination against students at school and better funding for schools to make improvements. 13 members were eventually arrested by a program that was proof that the government-supported racial discrimination.
Analysis: This event is important because without these students speaking up there wouldn't be opportunities for students of color, there wouldn't be any encouragement or advanced classes provided for them. Students were no longer disciplined if the were to speak another language. Equality will always be on high demand from students until a change is made.
Reflection: I think it is important for teenagers to participate in Political activism. Even though it is going to sound so cheesy I must say it. We are the future, if we truly want change then we need to use our voice and demand for change not simply hang back waiting for change to occur.

https://dailyhistory.org/What_is_the_significance_of_the_1968_East_L.A._Walkouts%3F
