-I think this shows how Clarisse's abnormal behavior translated into school, and they found reasons to kick her out. Even though she IS social, it's not the social that society is used to. That is what they mean by she doesn't mix.

-Montag's guilt of having books is creeping up on him to where he is having these thoughts, aswell as the idea of how firefighters used to put out fires, not create them.

-Beatty seems to be the only one with any intellect on things book-related. It raises suspicion that maybe Beatty himself has books, or has read books.

Montag is drowning his thoughts after meeting Clarise. It is making him question his relationship with Millie.

This whole time Montag has been locked away with these books, he has been thinking about Clarisse constantly

Montag is still numb to his feelings toward Mildred

Faber goes on and talks and gives logical pieces of information and he seems to be the only logical person left in this society. His conversation seemed like the first real Montag has had this whole novel.

"Of course you couldn't know this, of course you still can't understand what I mean when I say all this"

This is evidence that faber is very wise, ordinary people cannot comprehend what he is saying.

"And I hardly think a very old man and a fireman turned sour could do this much this late in the game..."

I think this was a foreshadow to the fact that they may start rebelling.

"...Quick War. Forty-eight hours they said, and everyone home. That's what the Army said. Quick war. Pete was called yesterday and they said he'd be back next week. Quick"

Millie's friends repeat the same things several times when they talk. There brains can hold a serious conversation

How is Mrs. Phelps talking about the Good Lord, without books?

"...They don't know that this is all one huge big blazing meteor that makes a pretty fire in spacee, but that some day it'll hit. They see only the blaze, the pretty fire, as you saw it."

The people in this society do not comprehend the problems that are present, they only care about the show that comes with it. I see it as a reality television show.

Beaty has the greatest knowledge on books in this story behind Faber. This is so interesting, because the book does not give us back story, we just know that at some point he indulged in books.

"Was it my wife that turned in the alarm?"

Beatty nodded...

Millie is not at all loyal to Montag threw out this whole story. If Millie would have just stuck by his side through things, he could have maybe got through things, and we would have a whole different Montag.

"Maybe the books can get us half out of the cave. They just might stop us from making the same damn insane mistakes!"

The structure of these sentences is showing how urgent and desperate Montag is to climb out of what society has now turned into

The bombing of the city is almost symbolizing a good moment and a time for evolution and adaptation. It is similar to a new beginning. They can all restart, rebuild, and repair the country.
