In singing, I am confident in sight reading, singing grade songs as well as songs for fun and singing in my chest voice and some head

In piano, I would like to be more confident in grade2-3 sight reading, some scales with both hands up to 2 octaves at a fast steady speed and to finish learning a piece that i am learning for fun. I would also like to pass my piano grade 2 exam

In singing, I would like to develop and improve my sight singing, the ability to sing high head voice notes sounding relaxed and to smooth over and to be able to sing in my break to chest and head voice

To improve this, in my ensemble challenge, I am singing in a duet and i will sight read a piece to find out the notes. I will also try and to do singing exercises so I can sing over my break

2) We all will look through the piece together then separately view it. We then will try and just practice one part of the piece separately

3) The we all will show what we practiced and try join it together

4) we again will try another bit of the piece and practice again together either inside of school or outside

5) After we complete the piece, we will practice it multiple times and will refine it by listening to the original piece and and adding things and techniques that sound nice

• The theme (west end) was good as it allowed many well known songs, such as musical songs like Let it go making the showcase involving for the audience to sing along and even for little kids in the audience with the range of songs.

• Most of the piano pieces played were good (for example City of Stars) as they were higher grade pieces and fit in well with the theme as the song was from La La Land which most of the parents would've enjoyed

• A few of the songs sang by vocalists or played by instrumentalists were good. Some of the higher grade songs were really good as the dynamics and the tune sounded better played than other simple songs, giving more feeling from the song itself, especially if it was an emotional song. Some of the other songs were not that great as the lyrics weren't remembered, timing was off, singing wasn't as good as it could've been, but were still fun as they were well known songs such as Dancing queen or First time in for ever.

• The orchestra was quite good as they practised a lot and it sounded in tune and pleasant. The pieces performed and the way they were performed was good due to good coordination through out the orchestra.

  • Back stage was organised properly with curtains opening and closing on time. Mics, props or anything going on and off of stage was handled discrete and flawlessly. Lighting and sound was also handled well but could've been better as the sound and songs were delayed or didn't work clearly

Bad:

• The lyrics of the songs sang weren't memorised properly for choir or solo songs most probably because they didn’t get enough time to practice or they were just nervous

• The singers weren’t starting on time with their songs so it sounded a bit odd with the music partly because of the fault of lighting and sound but could also be because the singer not knowing the song well enough or not practising enough with sound and lighting

• The guitar on the first night wasn’t plugged into the amp bgwhich was inconvenient for the guitarist who practised to play. The mics kept on echoing and didn’t work properly affecting the sound of the voice.

Musician- musicians produce, compose and play pieces of music. They can also perform live at concerts, parties and even weddings. Musicians can perform solo or in a band according to their choice.

Music therapist- Music therapists use music to improve the mental state of their clients. They can work with all ages to use music to help problems such as physical/mental disabilities, developmental disorders, life-timing conditions, neurological disorders or physical illnesses.

Musician- Musicians could perform at places - paid or unpaid- they could do song writing, they could compose their own music, they could do live music entertainment, for example they could play at parties or public events, they could teach music by doing music tuition, or they could do marketing. There is a broad range for musicians as they could do work paid or unpaid according to their thoughts and decisions on the career.

Music Therapist- They normally work in specialised clinical areas such as child development, neuro-disability, mental health or palliative care.

All these universities, schools and colleges specialise in music courses and will allow students interested in music to move further on into the music industry with a strong knowledge and education.

I believe it would’ve been better if the pianist also played the left hand but it’s fine as the piece still sounded as nice as it would’ve with the left hand
