Traveled the country, visited family, completed the wood flooring, baseboards, and quartz countertops in my house, new kitchen appliances, new TV, new furniture, and cleaned up the clutter. Feels good.

Forty minute essays (English 10 and 10H), seven to twelve page thematic and lit analysis essays (all 10th), twelve to twenty page cultural essays (AP), more rhetorical analysis with the sophomores, and excellent final projects with the Myth students.

We adopted our currently dog's litter mate at the beginning of the summer. Both sister are super happy. We had new flooring and a new TV installed in our upstairs bonus room. Our new couch and dinning room chairs finally came in. Started the process to have a new back patio cover installed. Overall, it was a good summer.

It was great spending several days down by the river with the family. While hot, the river is my favorite place to be. I also made the time to go through my girls' clothing before school started. What a task that was! Someone remind me to not let a year go by before doing that again.

As a new teacher, I felt that this activity helped with my confidence in seeing that I am close to grading the same way as veteran teachers do. This may sound silly, but grading is not a class that they teach you in college, and in general, it is a gray area to be discovered.
