I can understand figurative languages such as personification, hyperbole, metaphors, and similes. I learned about simile and metaphor in level 5. In the level 6 class, I learned two more figurative languages, and they were very interesting for me because hyperbole and personification exist in Korea, too. Now, I can find what figurative language is in the text and use it in an easy way.

I can understand an author's tone and word choice. I can know why an author chose some keywords because they desire to explain their claims more clearly. In module 2 reading homework, I received a good score in this part. I think I am good at finding the tone and understand it.

I can demonstrate, incorporate, and integrate the essay in an academic writing style. Especially this is about the module 2 writing test. The topic was about "Analyze the movie Dances with Wolves. What can we learn about cultural differences throughout this movie?" I could write this in deep thinking because I am very interested in this movie. I could get improving writing skills more through this essay. :)

This is the module 3 essay including estimating references. I could estimate the references by accuracy, authority, purpose, objectivity, and currency. I selected this essay because it shows very well about evaluating.

While I watched the movie named 'Dancing with Wolves', I could hear some difficult words, but I could predict what they mean. Also, through listening to the movie, I could analyze what is the cultural differences with comprehension in communication styles. In addition, I could analyze the symbol and meaning of behaviors or performances in the movie, I got a good score at the module 2 Listening test about the movie! >-<

When Ms. Amanda taught us the note- taking, I could note a keyword and understand what the speaker wants to say to the audience. This is proof that I could write down the information through listening. Even though there is some weakness which is such as being unable to listen to all supporting details and implied meaning, I will keep trying to listen to all details in the future.

I did the presentation almost 5 times. These note-taking papers were prepared for my presentation trying to making the whole flow of my presentations. When I wrote about the outline of the keyword, I could understand what words I should speak during the presentation.

I could make the powerpoint to present research. At the first time, it was hard to describe and create clear and well- organized powerpoint. However, now, I am good at making good looking powerpoint for the audience. This is my powerpoint by doing personal research and then drawing conclusions based on Hayley and me's research.
