Babies- babies need iron in their diets to help with their cognitive development, babies also need milk as this is a source of minerals, the calcium in the milk helps with growth and helps to make bones strong.
Children(2-5 years)- ''Everyone needs the same types of nutrients — such as vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, protein and fat. Children, however, need different amounts of specific nutrients at different ages''. For example children should have their palm sized meal, as too little food can make the children feel hungry easily and too much can cause health problems if the food contain sugars and fats.

Overall, i think that the Mulberry Bush Day Nursery did a good job when it came down to supporting children's individual needs and encouraging healthy eating, i think this because they make activities enjoyable, meaning that the children will enjoy doing them. The adults also speak to the parents to find out children's individual needs, this is important as adults can make suitable activities for the stage of the child's development.

The children are getting vitamins in their diet from this meal plan as for their breakfast they are getting strawberry jam. the children may be having too much sugars in their diet with the strawberry jam and the peanut butter, but i don't think that they are getting enough fruit and vegetables. In my meal plan i think that the children will be having too much fatty foods in this diet, i think this because the children are having cheese twice in one day, but because this is a dairy product it means that it will help with their bones and teeth, water is also in this diet as the children either have milk or water with their snack, and water for their dinner. The children are getting carbohydrates in their diet as they are having sandwiches, i think that carbohydrates are important because they re a source of energy. Vitamins and minerals are in their diet as they have fruit and vegetables for snack time, these are important as these are also a source of energy, i think they are having enough because they have fruit for one snack time and some vegetables for the other snack time, lastly fibre is in this diet, meaning thee children will feel full up and prevents illnesses.
