"All my life I've known what I am. The daughter of a victim and a killer." page 6-7.

Explanation: Ariel Benson, or Olivia Reinhart had a mother named Naomi Benson and a Father named Terry weeks. For all her life she believed what the detectives said, Terry Weeks stabbed Naomi and left to a place far away. But it wasn't until 14 years later that the detectives came back and told her it was never Terry Weeks that killed her, but instead Terry Weeks died with her, as they found his jawbone near the site. Her world shifted, she now questions, what was her father, and now, who killed both of them? This started the story as she had to find out the truth, even if it kills her.

"My lips curl back. The emotion I've been holding at bay starts to leak out. "Push her away? You stabbed her nineteen times." page 205

Explanation: This quote is at the end of the book as Olivia found the killer, or you could say the killer found her. She starts to get upset and all the emotions she held in exploded with rage and sadness.

The book, The Girl I Used To Be was a short, fast-paced but nice thriller! I especially liked the short chapters and how easy they were to read. I also enjoyed how you developed the characters, such as Max, Duncan, and the killer as you revealed their motives slowly in the book. There were lots of different clues that the reader and Olivia had to figure out. At the end, I liked how there was a twist on who the killer is. I liked the book and hope to read more of your other books!

The author believes that we should find the truth with courage. In this book Olivia Reinhart finds the courage to find the truth on what happened, and who killed her parents. The author also believes that pain is temporary. Her pain of grief to her parents and loneliness and hatred for her killer will soon go away in this book where she finds peace at last. The last theme I found in this book is, people will get what they deserve. The killer got what he deserved after killing Olivia's parents and even more in the end. There will always be judgement for those people.

I think this book, The Girl I used To Be should get a 4/5 because it was a good story line and the chapters were short and easy to read. This book had an interesting ending and overall it was a great book. Although, in the beginning there were some errors in spelling, and grammar. If it didn't have any misspellings or anything else I would have gave it a 4.5/ or maybe a 5/5.
