Nurses can ensure their patients understand the health risks that are associated with a changing climate.

The nursing profession has been ranked as the most trustworthy for many years in a row. Because of this, nurses are in a unique position to inform society to mobilize and act on climate change.

To educate and advocate in matters relating to climate change. By doing so, the community can be better prepared in the future for any possible effects of climate change.

Nurses around the world are already seeing the impacts climate change has had on the health of their patients. Having nurses advocate for their patients and commit to addressing the challenge would be a powerful message for the global community.

From the years of 2010 to 2019, the temperatures around the globe were the warmest to have ever been recorded.

The situation continues to go unchallenged for the most part. Meanwhile, billions of people are at risk. 

Oceans have continued to warm. As a result, the amount of ice that has melted has risen. Therefore, sea levels have begun to rise.

Global emissions of carbon dioxide have increased to a staggering 50% of the amount it was in 1990. 

In the years of 2000 to 2010, emissions have continued to outgrow the numbers set in the previous three decades.
