         <title>The Navigation: Orientation (The subject involved: ITALIAN, HISTORY, TECNOLOGY AND SCIENCE)600 minutes)    Read    100    22    1    We recently dealt with “Urban and City Planning” topic, after students read a mythological novel (Partenope the Mermaid and Naples’ Origins), and a video(PARTHENOPE) (https://youtu.be/qA8O3tgAHmg), the class discussed the actual origins of the city    Investigate    80    22    1    The students investigated on the origins of Naples, for instance, who founded it, and how was the navigation back then (how did the Greeks move through the Mediterranean sea). They used some sources too, available to the teacher on EASY CLASS (virtual classroom)    Practice    140    0    Students worked in groups to construct simple tools to measure time (such as gnomon and hourglass), to orientate themselves by using the sky ( a model with the major and minor Orsa and the Polar star). Some groups worked on a PowerPoint presentation in order to show their knowledge about orientation in the past.    Discuss    90    2    It has been planned a trip for this Unit. Indeed, students will visit ‘MUSEO DEL MARE’ and the ‘Astronomical Observatory’ in Naples. It will be asked them to use Google Maps to help themselves with to navigate, to identify the right path, different building and the time required to reach them. The statement of the trip is ‘Today orientation in the time and space is facilitated’; while the inquiry question is ‘What made orientation’s development possible during the time?    Investigate    60    2    Students divided into groups will realize investigation activities about satellite systems and currently used communications (their functions and future applications in job’s environment    Produce    130    22    0    Groups’ work will be, then, collected and shown to other classes in a Year 8 presentation, where each group will tutor the others and share with them the acquired knowledge.</title>
