I have been a student athlete in high school as well as in OCC. I have a passion for soccer and soccer history. My passion for soccer started when I was four years old. My mother signed me up for AYSO which led me later to play serious soccer at club level. My current major is tentatively kinesiology however that may shift in the near future towards business administration. I have an interest to learn foreign languages therefore I am studying German as well as Armenian.As life changes, I find it difficult to stick with one direction in my studies especially during these challenging times where the world is evolving into a new perhaps an unknown phase. Nevertheless I feel that English is probably one of the most important subjects if not the most important one in one’s academic life. I have been fortunate in my high school to have a good English curriculum that supported our academics which paved my way to a good relationship with the library. It has been challenging at times for me to to write with proper style and utilize the English language effectively however I find that reading and learning other languages are helpful in reinforcing communication skills in one’s own native language. I believe that this English course during the summer will benefit everyone to reinforce their writing skills, a tool that will distinguish the preferred employee or the preferred business owner from the rest. I am looking forward to writing and researching on interesting topics and reading other fellow students’ shared work to learn from fellow students as well.
