With my research, the main acts that I focused on were the Townshend Acts, the Sugar Act, and the Stamp Act. Along with the effects they had on America. Most colonists did not react positively to any of the Acts. The Stamp Act was the first Act that the colonists protested and because of this tax, the Sons of Liberty was formed. They would later protest more acts imposed by the British and launch us into the Revolutionary War.

Like the Stamp Act, the Sugar Act also had a negative impact on America. The Sugar Act marked the end of salutary neglect for the colonists. Also, the Sugar Act affected Boston and New England greatly because the colonists there used sugar and molasses to make rum.

The Townshend Acts were a series of laws passed by the British government on the American colonies in 1767. The British wanted to get the colonies to pay for themselves. The Townshend Acts were especially made to pay for the salaries of officials like governors and judges. This also caused a negative impact on America because it took some rights away from the colonists and imposed some new taxes. The Townshend Acts were also the reason for the creation of the Daughters of Liberty, who like the Sons of Liberty, would launch us into the American Revolution.

I believe that the acts of the American Revolution negatively impacted America because of the multiple groups formed for the soul purpose of protesting the acts. The groups like the Sons of Liberty and the Daughters of Liberty launched us into the American Revolution. The acts took away rights from the colonists, and imposed new taxes. The acts only positively impacted the British, but they encouraged the colonists to declare their independence, so without them we might not have been the nation we are today.
