The 1st level is called High Functioning Autism. High Functioning Autism requires support but they are able to do most things on their own. The 2nd level is called Autism. Severe Autism requires very substantial support and has severe deficits with social interactions. With ASD there is no blood test or medical test. Doctors have to look at the individuals developmental history to determine if they have ASD. Doctors also look at the behavior as well. By simply doing the same thing everyday at the same time can help them greatly. Students with autism most likely have repetitive behaviors therefore having repetitive days can help them stay focused on the content they are learning. Having a quiet place for students with ASD is also helpful. If there is too much going on around a student with ASD they may feel very overwhelmed. If you have a quiet corner where they can come down from sensory overload it will make them be able to come back to the content faster. Having different forms of the content you are going over can also help. Some people with ASD have difficulties with some auditory and visual medias.
