         <title>3. Social media, is a useful tool to allow women to share their experiences with leadership roles in  education. The issues that they face such as sexual discrimination, harassment and a lack of similar opportunities to their male counter parts. The use of the twitter #WomenEd, allowed the women to challenge the status quo and express themselves. </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- in 2022, leadership positions are still primarily held by men.- women are traditionally seen as better suited to the field, there is no doubt that women are underrepresented in critical educational leadership roles.<br><br>- Women have long been judged on traditional masculinity regarding effective leadership. A 1986 paper titled "Challenges for Women Educational Leaders: Examining Problems and Proposing Solutions through Educational and Social Change Strategies" illustrates this point. Not only do women have to behave like men, but they also have to be judged by how feminine they are.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Lack of representation of women in leadership.</div><ul><li>Rise in women being appointed leadership roles.</li><li>Men progress to their first leadership role more quickly.</li><li>When women go in to a leadership role its 9 years after being qualified compared to 6 for men.</li><li>Ethnic minority leaders are rising.</li><li>5% to 7% in primary schools and 7% to 9% for secondary schools for headteacher roles.</li><li>For teacher roles 9% to 11% in primary schools. 14% to 17% in secondary schools.</li><li>The number of ethnic minority in leadership roles is highest in the capital city (London) with 53% in primary schools and 42% in secondary schools.</li><li>Fewer classroom teachers, but more leaders. A decrease of 0.5% of teachers but an increase of 9% of leadership roles.</li><li>Increase in assisted heads and middle leaders.</li><li>Senior leaders are getting younger.</li><li>Median age for head teachers dropped 51 in 2010 to 48 in 2016.</li><li>Most teachers get a leadership role by 27.</li><li>Headteachers tend to have 4 years less experience.</li><li>Teachers get their first leadership role faster at secondary school.</li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>
