High heat is a book about a kid named Shane Hunter. Shane is a baseball player at a private school called Shorelake. Shane's life seems to be going pretty good. Until one day when he is at his game and he sees two people come and arrest his dad. Shane at the time was wondering why his dad was taken away. His dad was arrested for money laundering. His dad isn't innocent but still gets bailed out. While on bail his dad commits suicide, leaving Shane and his family with very little money and many problems to overcome. I think this is a good book if you like sports books, especially baseball. This book is well written and is interesting to me. I would recommend this book to a lot of kids.

This article shows ways that kids can deal with grief and losing a loved one. It shows how all kids grieve differently and how kids can go from happy to sad in a minute. This is how Shane was feeling when he lost his dad. He feels like he let his dad down.
