What did you learn about the topic of advertising and ad pitches?

I learned that there are different processes to advertising. I didn't even think of what it takes to advertise. There is a plan to advertise, different steps. Also, too much information isn't always the best.

What did you learn about perspective and bias in advertising?

I learned that companies are bias because they are promoting themselves. They promote their own products. Also, it's the perspective of the company themselves because they are the only ones who know a lot about their own product. Others don't know everything about them. Companies show the good things about what they are selling.

How aware are you as a consumer? What are advertisers really trying to sell you?

Well, I'm not very aware as a consumer. When it comes to advertisements, I don't pay attention to them because I don't care what they're going to say. If I were to see an advertisement, I would skip it (if it gave me the option to on YouTube) or change the channel once the advertisements come on. Advertisers are trying to sell their product to you. They're trying to persuade viewers that they're better than others. They want people to think they're the best of the best.

What did you learn about the topic of advertising and ad pitches?

I learned that advertising uses many different techniques to show off their products. In ad pitches, they show different techniques but have more words and it is not as entertaining as just advertising.

What did you learn about perspective and bias in advertising?

Well, I learned that the companies will always say good things about their company and make it seem like their product is perfect. They also will never say that one of their products is worse than the newer one. Apple is a great example of never trashing their old products. They will never say the old phone is worse than the new phone but they will say is that it has a more powerful system or a bigger screen.

How aware are you as a consumer? What are advertisers really trying to sell you?

I am definitely not an aware customer as I fall for all the advertising techniques. I would most likely buy a speaker just because it was advertised by Ronaldo. Advertisers are trying to sell you a product which in some cases you probably don't even need.

- What did you learn about the topic of advertising and ad pitches?
I learned that a lot of effort is put into ad pitches and that there is a lot of key information that needs to be included and taken into consideration when creating an ad that will properly sell the product to the intended audience. Advertising is a very hard thing if your product doesn’t appeal to a certain age group, and you have to work with what you have to shine a spotlight on it an make it known and popular for it to sell.

- What did you learn about perspective and bias in advertising?
I learned that perspective changes how a product is seen by certain people, and that bias in advertising really can effect if someone wants or doesn’t want the product.

- How aware are you as a consumer? What are advertisers really trying to sell you?
I am aware as a consumer that not everything is as good as they advertise and that many times they just want to trick you into buying a product. They are really tying to sell you something you may not necessarily want or need but are trying to convince you otherwise.

What did you learn about the topic of advertising and ad pitches?
I learned that the main thing advertisers want from you I to draw you in and get you to buy thier product or service. They used various tactics to try and get you to buy or fund your product. Examples of those tactics would be, slogans, jingles, and skits to make them memorable.

What did I learn about perspective and bias in advertising?
What I learned about perspective and bias in advertising is that it's always there. The company will try and attract the type of people that will be interested and entertained my thier product. Ex. During the Super Bowl there are many commercials about beer and cars because comanies know that mainly men are watching. That also flows with bias because alot of ad that are directed will not be just to the other half. Lady product commercials show that a women is powerful even on thier time; it leave the men out of it making it bias.

How aware are you as a consumer? What are advertisers really trying to sell you?
I would say I'm a pretty aware consumer because of common sense. You don't need every mop because this one is "magical" and you don;t need the nevest version of iPhone. Many cases the advertisers play trips on you showing how the product is foolproof and how you need it in your life. Unless it's the sun, food or water you don't need it you are just infatuated with it. Ad's will lure you in just to get the money they need.

1. I learned that an ad pitch is a way for companies to sell their product. They are used as a way to persuade people to buy the product or for big companies to invest in the product. If you have ever watched shark tank, a show where small companies show off their products to see if the the rich people there want to invest in their product, the companies use a pitch to convince the investors.

2. I learned that companies will do what ever they can to sell you their product. They will use techniques such as a bias, by saying how much better their product is than their competing rivals, and they will only list the goods, and not the bads about their product.

3. I think I am very aware as a consumer, especially after this unit, and analyzing all of these ads, I make sure what I am buying is a good purchase. I look at online reviews, both good and bad, I ask people I know who have purchased the product, and I use my knowledge on ad analyses when I observes the advertisement on this product.

They always will lean toward the product they are advertising over a competitor. And they kind of have to. If they didn't they wouldn't be good advertisers! Imagine a Nike advertisers saying on an ad that the new Air Force's are really cool shoes but the Vans shoes are also really cool, so even though Nike shoes are the shoes for you, Vans wouldn't be a bad choice either. No! No one does that!

How aware are you as a consumer?

What did you learn about the topic of advertising and ad pitches?

I learned that the point of advertising is for gullible people to buy a product/service. Advertising takes a lot of planning to make as close to perfect as possible. They try to make it as bias as possible to make the product seem amazing. Different techniques are used so the product will appeal to a consumer. Ad pitches are meant to broadcast/pitch your idea. Some smaller companies can't afford to make their product possible. They go to big companies to pitch their idea so they can invest in it. Ad pitches could be pictures, slogans, etc.

What did you learn about perspective and bias in advertising?

I learnt that every ad is bias. They make it bias so what they have for offer seems superior to everything else. If ads weren't bias, they probably wouldn't get any sales. People are trying to buy the best of the best and If you start listing weaknesses, no one will buy. If you list strengths and only strengths, you will get sales. I learnt that the perspective is usually from the company that is selling their product/service. Its quite obvious cause their perspective makes the product/service look good, which is their aim. Say the perspective was from a competing company, their product/service would probably seem like garbo.

How aware are you as a consumer? What are advertisers really trying to sell you

After all we've learnt, I think I'm pretty aware. I'm no master, but I have learnt how cope around their persuasion. I know that they only show good things. If I'm interested in that product, I'll research on the weaknesses and strengths. Before we started learning about this, I was still a pretty ok consumer. Mainly because models, colors and popping text never really worked on me. I don't care about all that bologna, I just want to see the product. I know that advertisers are trying to sell me a service/product. They use many techniques to do so. Sometimes, a technique companies use are LIESSSSSSSS.

COmpanies will try to make other companies look bad and they will argue about it.

What did you learn about the topic of advertising and ad pitches?
What I leaned was that they were using different way to interest any more people, most likely tweens and teens. Has big pictures and bold titles or sub titles to catch the attention of more people. They also included a graph that compared I few companies and the Piton Boots showing how it has high quality and expensive like other name brands, but its not will known. One thing that is not a good quality this ad has is that it has a lot of words and people (ME) might get bored or just don't feel like reading it.

What did you learn about perspective and bias in advertising?

I say its very bias, because like any other ad, they just focus on their product. Saying things like the Piton Boots is the only shoe that doesn't make one fall but I bet that people will still slip. When its winter isn't there something called winter boots to put on which are meant for snow. In the start of the ad, they say it has a unique system and say things like its an amazing product. Then looking at the comments, we can tell the product is not the prettiest and lots of people dislike it.

How aware are you as a consumer? What are advertisers really trying to sell you?

I'm aware as a consumer, they are trying to sell me a pair of shoes that help us not slip on ice and are apparently heavy and hard to put on and take of. I don't think I will need the shoe or ever want it because there is something called snow boots. I don't think much information on this ad is true and if I want to know more about it I can go browse the net for more info on it.
