Miltiades had every city state except Sparta so Miltiades sent Pheidippedes to Sparta to ask them to join the battle but Sparta said that they were having a religious festival and cant fight until the full moon came. So that was a huge set back because Sparta were the best fighters in Greece but that didn't stop Miltiades so he sent the warriors to marathon they came there and stood in formation for a days until the Persian Calvary thought to sneak away to Athens in the middle of the night and this enraged Miltiades so he waited for the Calvary to leave and with the best fighters out of the way Miltiades charged with the soldiers in full sprint in 70 pound armor and surrounded the Persian army and slaughtered them and the fight went on for about 4 hours the remaining Persians got on ships and left.
