This is a one of the world's trickiest questions. By this I'm not talking about the definition of "life"; Wikipedia's got that one covered.
I'm talking about "What is the meaning of life?". Now, everyone in this world has a different approach and answer when this question is asked. The most common answer is "Everyone has a different answer."  Which is true. Everyone has his/her own answer. But how does one get to that point where they actually question life and it's meaning?  Well, I believe it's after they start questioning existence altogether. Now, when a person questions existence and it's meaning, specific outcomes await them. Either they come up with an answer and embrace it, some just won't find it, and some fall into an existencial crisis. The search for the answer can take days, weeks, months, even years. However, they will eventualy find the answer, or die before they have the chance to.
I can't tell you what the definitive answer to that great, fear-striking, simple yet complex question is; for thousands of years philosophers haven't found it, how could I?
At the end, it depends on you.... or not... who knows...

In a scientific way, life is the period of time it passes since the moment we are born til the moment of our death. But that is a very poor definition and does not represent it. Life is, essentially, how do we deal with our existence.

During that period of time when we are “alive”, a lot of things will happen with us. We will grow up, learn things, make decisions and mistakes, all in a particular set of circumstances that we haven’t chosen or we can’t change. There is where life itself, and its meaning, resides: Maybe we aren’t able to modify the circumstances we have been given, but we are always free to decide how are we going to take them.

That’s why life is not the same for everyone, and every single person on the world has a completely different life from the others. Everyone has to walk their own way and find their personal meaning to its life, which is like the destiny we will guide our actions to.

In it we must take a series of decisions that will lead us to have a future in which to be happy, with which we can achieve our goals and objectives and live with freedom


But we can also explain life from a more transcendental point of view. For example, I associate life with a train track in which we see the beginning but do not see the end.
The beginning is the moment of our birth and we can relate the end of our life to death but, from my point of view, this relationship is wrong. 
Life has no end, because when we present an accident of corruption, our life continues once dead in what Christians know as eternal life.

For me being alive are moments. Little things that I can feel and appreciate because I am alive. The good and also the bad ones, because life is not always happy but the same it can not be always sad. I think the sad moments that we live happen for a reason, they help us to grow up as persons and to appreciate the good moments.

It can seem a nonsense, but it demonstrates that people tend towards LIFE instead of death.
