Every Friday there is a 'Breaking Bread' club where pupils and staff can discuss beliefs with understanding.

Learn about different religions in RVE

Christmas advent calendar with a song of the day

Information about religious and cultural events and beliefs in form time.

We have explored the different Gods in Hinduism, we designed our own.

Explored different places of worship.

Looked particularly Diwali and made our own Diya Lamps.

We designed our own logo for our own culture.

We have studied a book called "A year in celebrations" and have looked at different Autumn and Winter festivals and how different cultures celebrate.

We have also explore Christmas traditions around the world.

We perform our Christmas concert in the local chapel. We love celebrating Christmas with a turkey dinner!

All the children in the school write a Christmas tag with their ideas for Children's rights and we decorate our school Christmas tree with them.

We have visitors from different faiths come to school.

We celebrate St David's Day and Shw Mae day as a school and take part in the annual Welsh Heritage awards. We have a Welsh Speaker of the week.

We prepare concerts for Christmas and other religious festivals for our families

What have you done in school/youth group that helps you celebrate your identity?

- Attend several groups such that celebrate our identity in school, youth service and community.

What has worked well? What could be better?

- Some YP feel their culture is not celebrate enough in schools and feel left out of festivities

- Learning other cultures should be an option

- EP lessons in school aren’t very helpful

- Some schools don’t support Pride as well as they could or do not accept our pronouns. They don’t discriminate but don’t accept it.

- Youth club lets us celebrate our identity well

- More Welsh celebrations

How would you like to learn about different religious and cultural celebrations?

- Teach more about other religions in school and in assemblies led by young people  

- Learn more about the history of different celebrations

- More religions celebrated than just Christianity

- More visits and trips

People from show Racism the Red Card came to our school and we made a video.

We do a lot of work for Service Children at our school.

We have set a piece of homework linked to Article 7 - the right to a name and nationality, the children can write or draw around the number 7 anything that links to their name and culture. There are winners from each class that win a Rights respecting badge with 'Rory' our rights mascot.

We have celebrated St Davids day by having a school Eisteddfod, celebrating the culture and the language. Every year we take part in Shwmae Sumae day and Dydd Miwsig Cymru. We also listen to one Welsh singer or Welsh band each month. We had pupils take part in the Eisteddfod last year in a variety of competitions. We have a phrase of the week or month for Welsh.

We have parents in to cook in our cafe to share their national dishes, pupils will cook with them and classes pair up to cook and taste.
